Do you know if there is anyway to see how an individual ad performs? I see % time served but nothing else, when I click on more info it takes me to some help page...
OK, actually a .5 in the CPM world isn't all that bad. I typically aim for 1% + with CPM ads but don't always get it. For the CPM ads I see % time served, impressions & clicks in the basic AdWords interface. Conversion data can be tracked through AdWords or your analytics solution (if it has that option/ability). What info are you looking to capture?
Scroll down to the bottom of your ad group. Under the ad(s) you should see something like: 38,462 Impressions | 1.9% CTR | $5.25 CPM
Yeah I see it for the text ad but for the image ad next to it all I see is... 165 Impressions Served - 1.9%
It's not showing your CTR? What I cut and paste in the post above are the stats for an image based CPM I'm running right now. Maybe you're not seeing a CTR right due to no clicks yet...or maybe it doesn't start showing a CTR until you have 1,000 impressions. It should show it though....maybe try firing off an e-mail to AdWords support.
You're too new to give up from search network - try it again. Go to keyword tool and try new keywords, try new ads. a sale conversion is 1%~5% depend of what're you selling, depend of your site, and of your product - you need to try to know. yes, do not show CTR and clicks until first click on period.
Ok, yeah the stats just updated.... I made some modifiactions but this includes the other part from today but it seems to have improved if you take the differences.... But the image ad now shows... 214 Impressions | 0.4% CTR | $4.42 CPM Served - 2.1% and the overall has now changed to... 59 10,192 0.5% $2.43 $24.70 0.00% $0.00 so for 11 more clicks i paid... 3.52 CPC = .32 Is that good, I want to get it down to about .15 to .10...
The messed up thing is I changed my budget and deleted a few sites but they are still generating clicks for me, and it has gone over my budget how long does it take to update the edits?
Micromag or Chicago, Anyway I can see your linw, like with the conversion rate and cost/coversion just to see what I can expect?
All these data depend of your kind of business and is very hard to compare - if you sell airline tickets you can not compare to who sell Online Software for example. You need to setup your business case now: you need to know excatly how much you want to pay per Adword custumer and see if you cost per conversion worth or not in the end.
The line I posted above is actual stats from today for a CPM campaign I have running. Sorry, can't share the conversion data
Hey guys... Im starting to get better at this, will fine tune some more but check it.... 51 7,032 0.7% $1.08 CPM $7.54 0.00% $0.00 Still no conversions but I expect to make the conversions go up as soon as I release my site...
Emil, I'm seeing too much 0% conversion there. I insist: use the search network - it is the make money here. In AdWords you need to try all possible crazy solutions and stay with the one that best sell for you. You are assuming that CPM is the best for you - who knows? There is huge difference from search and content that in search network you get people that are true searching and needing your product and content you get clicks for those who just saw you banner and are curious for what is there.
Micromag, I see your point and you're right, I'm probably going to use a combination of both methods, but I want to start the search part when I launch my site... currently just testing out what banners and ads give me best CTR... Any tips on finding bargains in the search part?
Begin with obvious keywords, do not loose the focus - add only your business direct related keywords at least in beginning. For example if you sell "Broadway tickets" do not add at beggining the keywords: "Broadway" "Show Tickets" "Tickets" begin with "Broadway tickets" and only after you're sure that you're making money with these keywords you may try the above other keywords to check - I'm not telling to go with just 1 keyword but several keywords but very direct with your business.
