    Hey guys,

Im about to embark on a huge adwords campaign, site specific CPM, and I was just wondering if anybody has any tips for me on how to save some money on AdWords, I have never really used AdWords heavily and am a huge noob in it.

Also can someone tell me if the conversion tracking is hard to install...
How long did it take you, they have PDF manual there but I opened up and it was like 50 pages so I kind of put it aside for later ;)

If you're new to adwords, begin slow.

your "huge adwords campaign" do not looks nice idea for someone that is new to adwords thing. You will certainly loose a lot of money with this wrong idea - go slow in the first weeks until you figure out how it works.

Also I would begin with keyword campaign instead of CPM campaign - CPM is a little bit hard to setup - is hard to find a site that convert good and maybe is not good for newbies.

Regarding the conversion code, it is very easy to setup - forget the PDF file, it just list examples, you do not need it - just paste the HTML code into your destination page - follow the adwords wizard and you'll not need the PDF.

Start slow/small and build on what works.

The beauty of AdWords is that you'll be able to see what's working - and what's not - very quickly.

Yeah, Im going to launch a major renevotion of one of my sites soon so Im going to fine tune my AdWords technique in the meantime, I set up CPM on over 100 sites with a budget of $10/day and max CPM of $5.00, sifting for bargains ;)

On the CPC i set it up for 15 keywords with a max CPC of .15

My ad was rejected so I submited another one today, lets see how it goes, anything wrong with the numbers I mentioned are they unreasonable

Are you talking about your CPC ad or your CPM ad? Short of trademark issues I've never had an ad rejected by Google.

No, Im not in the thong business  it was just a part of the ad (image ad) not text ad, i don't think they care if you have "thong" in your text ad.

After you add/edit a text/graphic ad it need to be manually revised by an editor before it can be published in Google Content Network.

You'll know when it have been reviewed when it receive the 1st impression - be carefull that it can run very fast as soon it has been reviewed.

A typical review period takes 1-2 business day and can take up to 5 days in some extreme cases.

I suggest working your way through the Adwords Learning Centre at www. google.com/adwords/learningcenter/ A lot of its pretty basic but I found the optmisation tips useful to start with and the section of Conversion Tracking really useful.

    Ok,

Had my first day with AdWords, I got to admit it Im pretty dissapointed based on stats i got, any chance my conversion code is broken or is one code for all campaigns...

    I got this...

    48 8,705 0.5% $2.44 $21.18 0.00% $0.00

    Bad?

Im going to keep on tweeking to see what I can come up with...

A 0.5% CTR (is that for the search network only?) is pretty bad imo. I always aim for 5% plus. To me anything under 1% is a red flag to review my matching options and ad copy.

In terms of the conversion of 0%...keep experimenting. I try not to draw any conclusions until I have a few hundred (preferably thousands) clicks under my belt.

I think that he is doing pure CPM.

as I told you go slow, and do not go only CPM the big in adWords is the search network.

Yeah, i was doing pure CPM, I removed the other one cause my keywords are to competitive I would have to pay like $1 PPC, I think CPM is a better solution for me, I am going to try to fine tune it...

What kind of conversion do you get with Adwords?
