:) HELLO EVERYONE!! I am a new member of this forum and I also newly started a website with google adsense. Right now, I do not know how to earn money. As well, I dont know how to promote my website. My website is www.geocities.com/doghatescat/Cars.html . This is a free website I created but I need to know how to promote my website and how to get more traffic. My earnings are right now $0. So please, assist me.

first advice, get a new domain and hosting service..geocities suck,, it won't be able to handle big service. you don't want your vistor to see a "bandwidth excessed " page

Ditto. I am excluded at least three quarters of the time whenever I go to a geocities time as bandwith exceeded, or they just don't want me. (Of course, it could just be me.)

Also - page content. I'd assumed when first the page loaded that there was no content - if a user has to scroll down to find content then the content literally does not exist for them. Did you take those photos yourself? Otherwise I am assuming you have copyright releases from the photographers/owners of the image to use them on your site. ;) Good luck with it. :)

if you don't paid, how could you earn? money don't fly on the street....
    these are general rules
    1) search for good niche
    2) create unique content of that niche
    3) exchange or buy links
    4) search for more good niche, add more content and get more link

oops this is my 600 post, congrat to myself...

It's really not that big of an expense. A new domain name and hosting for two months will cost you under $10 at Godaddy.com. After that, hosting is only $3.99/month. You probably spend $10 a day on junk food and soda; just save $4 of it to pay your hosting every month.

Wow, no offense, but that's a terrible layout. It looked like just a bunch of random pictures and text plastered randomly across the page.

Unfortunately, you need to build a decent looking website in order to get traffic.

No, it won't. You have to promote it. You can find lots of valuable information on how to do that by reading this forum. Good luck!

    its a catch-22 for you.

but you seem somewhat reluctant to spend some money if at all.
There is no free lunch in the world and you will read very much in this forum that you will need content, content, content.

If you expect to earn big bucks within days, you are definitely mistaken. Like what has been mentioned, 3-4 dollars a month in terms of money out, will just require about 10-20 cents per day in terms of earnings to break even. So if you do have a decent enough site, with content, what's stopping you from earning more than your expenses? I can only think of one thing and that is you yourself.

So just try to create a simple site, fill it with content and then promote it with the many directories that you can submit to for free. Just remember that you definitely need to put in effort in promoting your site.

btw, your Geocities site is down

If you spend all your time promoting and none of it building a quality website, all those visitors you drive to your site won't be staying anyway, meaning you'll have done all those promotions for nothing. Build a good website first, then start promoting it. First impression is everything.
