Is there a limit on how many we can have? The TOS needs to be much more specific in all areas before anyone can use this extension for development. As it stands there are way too many ways to lose a domain at any time because of the vague wording. If you can't assure users that they won't lose their domain your extension will only be used by spammers that plan on losing it anyways, serious users will be scared away.
It's copyrighted names that you would be worried about, as its something beyond our control. Their is no current limit to the amount of domains you can register, for now. If we do at one time permit a limit, you'll always keep the domains you first registered. The Terms Of Service is yet minimal, but shows a rough idea specificating some of the ideas of our infrastructure and policies. If someone has registered a domain name that isn't copyrighted at the time of registration, you'll assured that your domain name is yours one hundred percent. You'll only lose the domain name if its not being used or inactive for more than 100 days, so others can register it for purposes that will become more useful. We're organising a few things, as you know we're in beta. So, it's not fully ready yet but it's functional.
Let say i register 30 me.pn domain and i not use to develop website but i redirect all to my .com domain, for more than 100day, and .com domain is a blog that update 1 week(2-3post). this count inactive or active, will my me.pn will be gone? and can i park the domain with sedo or other parking domain service? is this violation rules?
Inactive means the domain is not in use, when it is redirected or used with to an valid website that is indicated as "active". You are free to park the domain with Sedo or any other parking service. That is not against our terms of service at this current moment.
Hey i registered www. me. pn before two days now it says not available its reserved.... change your registration form country spelling
Sorry, www. is one of our most important domains. We absolutely forgot to reserve it, because that handles over 30% of our traffic. It was the only one we forgot to register unfortunately. To compensate, I'll offer you a free one letter domain from our registry.
The main concern should be how long this SLD ( second-level domain ) will last ? i don't want to be "bad" but is a "must know".
It is a ccSLD, or whatever you want to call it. The main aspect of this is to keep profiles for web developers more organised, obviously the company behind it (M-MediaUK) is extremely high funded and until we see it has no use - it will still make progress. I can understand what you're trying to say, but right now we're seeing what potential it has. If it goes well, we'll improve it to an extremely better standard and so on. matessim - It is fine, as long as you're using them before you "sell" them. It is a subdomain as you can see, but following the same principle as "co.cc" it's still a domain. I would suspect it's short enough to become a easy rememberal URL since it follows a specific word "my personal network" which is absolutely easy to remember in my opinion.
after did some search, feel sad that u lying about what u say ""It's from the ".me" extension, and expanding it to ".pn" ", i search .pn domain extension whois where URL is http://www.government.pn/cgi-bin/whois.cgi and type me.pn and the result is 6a. Name.......................: Bilawal Hameed which same as ur username which mean is not from .me domain extension but from .pn domain extension. and who wanna buy sub-domain? never heard about people who willing to biy sub-domain
lol. I said it's an extension as in with the ".pn" not with the ".me" registry. It's not extensioned to .ME but more of a representation of .ME. Yes, I brought it directly from the government of Pitcairn Islands but I don't really think thats important. The fact is, people can register domains entirely associated with a personal ccSLD without paying. I wouldn't just register a domain for nothing and expect it to fly, I know the pros and cons about this and how I'm focusing on entirely one niche dedicated to personals, CEOs, developers, freelancers, socialisers, readers, designers, artists, writers, coders and others. And, yes that is my name. Is there any issues you have with that? jiggymehta - Yep, their are still quite a few. PR9 - If you don't like, don't register. It's just a way to have a "me" TLD-like domain without paying $20+ odd a year. Not everyone can afford you know.
Yes, great deal for free, no complaints here Yes, I understand copyrighted and trademarked names are not permitted but at one point you said 'non-commercial' which could mean many things. So is commercial use now permitted? Also do you have a monetization plan for these? Will ads suddenly start appearing on my sites on the future?
Commercial use is more of a way meaning that it can't be used in a unappropriate money method. And no, you will never see ads on your domains. Never ever. I have monetisation plans through private affiliation and some premium services, but however all the domains and that kind of related services are completely free. So, you just need to keep registering and referring.
The registry now supports nameservers, better redirecting system and a free parking page. So, it's got it all covered now.
I have now set the name servers for kenneth.me.pn. But it looks like it just redirects to the first name server's IP. Is it a bug or do I have to wait?
