My acct was terminated back in Dec, waited the 3 months and did not get paid for remaining balance, about 60k. Just a warning to those that expect to get paid for their balance, there is a good chance that won't be happening.
banned today too! after 1.5 years... Does this mean I won't be getting the check that's supposed to be mailed tommorrow?
I seem to be hearing more and more cases like this lately, and it makes those of us who were recently terminated all the more nervous. Yikes. All we can do is wait and see I guess, but boy is it going to be a painful wait, my balance is fairly sizable too. Nowhere near 60K though, ouch, you must be devastated. Sorry to hear that the YPN carnage is mounting. Hopefully even more people will post here so we can get a full picture of how many publishers were affected. A2, sorry to hear you got axed as well, I recognize you from over at SP. I liked your replies to Yahoo. I plan to send them my .02 as well.
You should be I guess. My last month earnings is ready for DD. Don't know about this month earnings..
Oh noes! Now yall have to figure out how to make money on clicks somewhere else. How long you think you could sit back and watch money come in from clicks? Publishers are the reason I stopped paying for ads w/ yahoo. They make the network crap. so go cry somewhere else because u were makin money off of advertisers. wahhh wahhh wahhhh go get a ebook or something
I for one have about 10 revenue sources for my web sites, so losing YPN doesn't halt my life. Only a fool would think YPN and its high payouts would last forever, so please don't insult us all by assuming we thought it would. We all knew the parade would get rained on eventually, we're just shocked that it happened so abruptly, and due to some factors that are beyond our control. Sure, it can be argued that the publisher end of AdWords and Yahoo Search Marketing is no where near as effective as advertising in search results, anyone who advertises (me included) knows that. I'm not disagreeing with you on that, a lot of people don't advertise on the content network for the same reason. But c'mon, why don't YOU go cry somewhere else. No one invited you in here, and if you don't have a YPN account (or were terminated) then what are you doing here? You're a minus to this conversation. Not trying trying to be rude but have a little sympathy here, some people stand to lose significant money because of this, and the last thing they need is someone calling them out as crybabies.
I agree with this as well. I never expected my $3 clicks to last forever, but then again, I still expected to have an account to use if payouts were same as Adsense (since i'm adsense banned). Maybe you should stop being jealous you never even had an account and go do something meaningful.
I propose we all boycott Yahoo. Let's just see how their conversion is if there are no publishers. I fail to understand their logic of terminating publishers due to poor conversion when all they (ypn) do is use our site for their testing purposes. It's like saying, "Well, the mouse didn't do what it was supposed to do. Let's just termintae it and find another mouse." At this rate, there won't be any mice left to test on.
well, since they are having a hard time getting the program right to show revelant ads,the stock and revenue is getting killed by google, the last thing they would want is a bum rap from ppl that help advertise the clients, one would think..
I got the termination notice today as well. I've been in the beta since Sept. 05. YPN has been going downhill for a few months now. The ad targeting has been horrible. I kept hoping that they'll improve their ad targeting but it wasn't happening. It's ironic to get the email that my account was having "poor traffic quality" when the ad targeting itself was so poor. The CTRs never came anywhere close to AdSense even when I took a website where I had Adsense running for months and, as a test, replaced them with YPN. I'm not surprised that the last quarterly report from Yahoo didn't show a large revenue jump as Google's did after they rolled out AdSense. At the rate they are running the YPN program and terminating publishers, it's no wonder they are getting left behind by Google.
I can't help but think it is some automatic detection system that is terminating publishers. It's got to be some kind of error on YPN's side. The ad relevance problem started about two months ago and now it seems almost everyone is getting the boot. Coincident?
Being insensitive is not the answer. Some people may have planned to pay bills with their YPN money...
i've always wanted ypn to be available in my country, but after reading this, nah. sorry to hear this guys, it's time to go back to adsense. hail oh mighty google...
I was geo targeting and I was NOT ad targeting. I used to ad target hoping for more relevant ads to no avail. Then I noticed that most who were getting banned were targeting unrelated categories. I stopped ad targeting a couple of months ago. I had some really big days on my high traffic sites with low CTR. Usually far lower CTR than my adsense sites but much, much higher EPC so was worth it to use YPN. My sites fell into a ton of different categories including video game related forums, informational/fan sites, retail (ecommerce sites), blogs and arcades. I didn't have any MFA's. This is probably the largest round of bans I have witnessed. I personally know at least 10 publishers banned in this round where I typically know 1 or none during the last few rounds. I have never been suspended and never had ad targeting turned off so there was no warning. Maybe this round was due to the lack of advertisers. The ads are getting more and more irrelevant all the time obviously due to lack of advertisers who realized their clicks were not converting. As an advertiser I would stop using them as well if my clicks weren't converting to sales. Oh well. For me it is not the end of the world but pisses me off that YPN expects ads not even close to relevant would convert and that they put the onus on me to provide better quality traffic. My traffic is extremely high quality but with ads for "Fence Sales and Installation" on a site about Final Fantasy I dont see how anyone would have any interest.
So, does it matter if you get terminated on the last day of the statement period? Half my balance went into the "payment history" as pending... just like it always does. Will they send these out as usual? Anyway, everything happens for a reason. All this will do is get me back to basics. Making money by collecting the funds myself instead of relying on PPC like G and Y. It's never good business practice to rely on 3rd parties to get paid.
I will cry all I want because its pathetic that anyone thinks that money for clicks will last forever. Who cares about a YPN account or adsense That shit didnt buy my house or other things I just think its tooo funny that a scam is done with, yes its a scam, its a waste of advertisers money. Go outside and make real money , I know I do. suckanut behind your keyboard because thats all you got along with most of the ebook resale fucktards from every poor country thats known to scam in the world. i resell ebay directorys $5 payapl instant pm me lolslols have fun with your internet world by scamming advertisers and this program with yahoo ended quickly like this because OF FRAUD so much check yahoos stock in the past few months... or do you not know how to do that because you dont get paid to click on a stock.. fucker and go ahed and say i type bad because i will give you my personal address and business address so if you have any problems you can SAY it to a face , you know how things were done before 1998
Thanks for your nonsensical ramblings gpdbiz, they have nothing to do with anything. I'm sure you hear this on a daily basis, but "no one cares". Go troll somewhere else.
