    Hey,

I'm just trying to improve the layout and ad placement of my guitar lessons website and was wondering if people could comment on the new template I'm trying to design. I'm really bad at designing stuff like this so please forgive me for the crappy attempt so far!

It's still basically in it's first stage (and obviously isn't very good yet) so if people could help me choose a better colour scheme (I want to concentrate on a green scheme but I haven't got a good colour yet), comment on it's overall layout etc.. I would be greatful.

I've only bothered starting on the homepage so please check it out!

    Thanks,

    H.Hashi

What colours would you suggest? I've changed the background image of the page but it is still indeed green.

Also you mentioned that the layout was ok, would you suggest any changes to it to make it better?

Btw I haven't bothered with optimising it (meta, title, alt etc...) so please don't bother commenting on that. :)

It amaze me that so much people don't care to validate their sites, yet it's an important ranking factor. Please, remove the errors:validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.igdb.co.uk%2Ftemplate.htm

Ah that's really helpful - thanks! It might take a while before I can fix all those errors because I'm a complete amateur at all this.

Sorry I'm a complete newbie to all this and I don't really understand why I'm getting these error messages shown on this page:

    validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://www.igdb.co.uk/template.htm

Is it something to do with the DOCTYPE statement I've put in? I only had 15 errors before and now it's shot upto 63 or something... Plus some of the errors are due to the code from Google AdSense so I don't really know what to do.

Please give me some pointers!

I would say maybe a bit too much green. Not really sure about the shade of green either...

The colour is blinding, its too strong.

wp3.validator is hard to use if you are a newbie. You can end up making things worse if you dont know what you are doing. You may need some help with it.
Not everyone validates their site though, mine wasn't and was still a pr5.

Thanks for all your comments guys.

I'm going to try and replace my current homepage with the template to see if CTR increases as my old site layout is absolutely rubbish (it's the first site I made). I know it's a bit weird the fact that the homepage will have a different look from the others but anyway - right now I don't really have the time to spend on my websites (I will over the summer holidays though - I'm a student:eek:)

As for all your suggestions I will try them out over the next few months.

Thanks again, every comment has been useful. :D
