No, Google is not at planning any such thing. Links will keep on playing an important role in your search engine rankings, but now the validation has changed multi-fold. Earlier all sorts of links were accepted, like from articles, guest blog, PRs, directories, comments, etc. but now Google only consider those links which are naturally placed and adding some value to the content from where that link is coming/going to any specific page.

Now, Unnaturally/forcefully placed links in Wikipedia article won't get you anything, but a natural link from less known but quality blog can definitely give some boost to your rankings.

Mind you, even if Google says that it doesn't consider links for algorithm, it'll still consider them, as they're recommendations and recommendations can be never be ignored, even Google can't afford to ignore inbound links

 

Yes, it's working but doesn't help you with your SEO efforts. It is now just signal for search engine that what this image is all about. so it is better to give a sensible Alt Tag to images instead of your keywords

 

I don't agree. Google is still on top and going to remain on this position for so many years. So you really can't afford to ignore Google (at least as a search engine). People love Google and Google is the first option while you're searching for anything. Even so many webmaster give their answers on DP after searching for right answer on Google he he he

But yes, relying only and only on Google can be problematic, we should keep our marketing and advertising option open, there so many avenues (I didn't say alternatives) to market your brand/ product/ service which can get you really good results

 

These supposed daily changes are only minor adjustments, don't get confused by such statements. SEO for Google has not changed a lot during the last 13 years. What mainly changed is their ability to discover and eliminate manipulations against their "best practice" rules. If you follow the rules, provide quality content and your competition is not too tough, there is a fair chance for first page rankings and targeted traffic from the search engines.

Quality content with natural keywords, links from trusted sites thats in your category, register at social networks and just keep posting quality content that your readers would share and spend time on reading.

The blackhat seo will make you rank high a small amount of time but longterm seo will always win. I have never spent time on timeconsuming seo and my sites are ranking high in google (norwegian sites) just because of content and a clean and logical seo work.

 

Well, I would totally agreed with you day by day the search engines are getting smarter and smarter !! There is a whole lot thing to do now in SEO as it now requires much more concentration and effort ! Previously, just by doing some garbage things one can rank on the Google but now it has grown to something different !!
