I got one of those too. It seems I get a lot of spam and scam emails like that these days.... I just delete it right away.... no point in wasting time reading it
Yes I still get the other types, I think they are changing the style, seems the older plain ones are not working! In some I've even seen pictures, very clean emails!!
I couldn't believe it ... I was flipping through channels the other afternoon and some idiot on Judge Joe Brown owed her former friend thousands of $$ - when asked why she hadn't paid it back ... ready .... here it comes ... she lost about 2800USD in an email scheme from Nigeria
That's fantastic. Come on, they are showing "entrepreneurial spirit" in these scams ;-) If only they could locate that darn Caps Lock key they'd be on to a winner!
Yes, I also have been getting emails like that sender of the email has inherited million of dollars and wants to give away to somebody to be shared later. I saw one funny story about a Nigerian con man who got trapped of his own trick. Before he could milk his supposed victims, he was asked to paint something on his body and send a photo as proof of joining a group. His face is revealed. Too bad I can't find that story!
I've once replied them, was so funny, I forgot if I've my phone number in my sig, after like 2 days somebody actually called me. He told me his name, I searched rapidly through my mails & saw it was those nigerian emails. I talked for like 10-15 mins made as if I was interested !! Asked the person if he could send me more details (he actually sent me some mins after hanging up the phone!!!) All I can say is... they are sooo dumb!
There's a couple of fantastic websites where these idiots are strung along and made to do some funny things to "prove" they are honourable etc. Ladsfromlagos.com 411eater.com used to be one but it's been replaced by a generic search page now
Do you mean 419eater.com? There are some hilarious stories in the letters section and the forums too. Nothing like reading about some scammer lads going on safari to get money (or so they think) from their "maga", strange initiations to made-up (by scambaiters) churches, etc. I highly recommend this site to anyone who needs some laughs during slow times at work. However, it does have a chance to "eat" up one's whole day and night on a regular basis.
