It features a young looking James T Kirk and Spock in their late teens arising to manhood with all the drama and action that follows them. Plenty of Cgi and high packed action scenes, The movie reminds me of Star wars one where Anakin Skywalker was young and growing up. So DP members what do you think of this new Star trek movie? I can't wait till the movie comes out personally. I think the new feel and edge to it will provide more content for those of us who like to RP Star Trek. Personally it appears to me that it will show the more mature side of Star Trek. Always was told by those who didn't like the TV series that it felt to PG-13ish.
I think it the movie will be really interesting. Mainly because I think it might entice anti trekies to actually watch the movie because it's based around the original series with Kirk. Most people I know who hate Star Trek have always hated the spin offs, but quite liked the original series and films.
It's nice but I wished they have made the movie about the present. I am not much of a fan of prequels.
I wish JJ would be more friendly towards the trek community and not hate on us so blatantly. His movie may have potential (and since the bridge is now white and looks like a frosted Christmas tree, even that's doubtful), but it seems at every opportunity he reminds us that the old trek was sooo uncool. Um, no, it wasn't. Gene's Trek is made of awesome.
