I just added a directory to my sports site. I used Dew-Codes PHPLINKS and made quite a bit of modifications to it to make it a little more SEO friendly. Some of the changes are as follows: - Changed the category links from useless number to a more descriptive name (example: Football forum was directory/3.html, now its directory/football/) - Altered the code that had members links as out.php?id= to a hardcoded link to their site. This will allow robots to go directly to the sites instead of getting hung up on mine. I did make it where it will still count the hits going out. - Changed the thumbnails service so more sites can get served. The default only showed thumbnails from sites in DMOZ. It might take up until a day for your screenshot to show up. - Several other minor tweaks were done, so it might be a little buggy. Feedback here is appreciated. thanks to the few who have submitted their free links. i just wanted to update you on a few things. it seems that the thumbnails are updated from 24-48 hours. site looks really good when all the thumbnail screenshots are there. the directory is now indexed by google. along with optimizing other sections of the site, all PR3, i predict the directory will have a PR3 or 4 by the next PR update (not the one coming up this month, after that).
