I don't you think that will matter they might ban that domain, but he has probably hundreds on different IPs the guy doesn't seem that stupid, Google needs to fix their algo if they want to get rid of him and others that read this...

The wacko has killed the internet as we know it with this thread :(

and I have posted here about it, reported it to Google but people just said "Ah.. get over it" and "Google will take care of spammers and scrapers" but like you guys have seen today it is a bigger problem than we thought, and especially for Google. Their new algo, I think, made this possible even more and this guy was/is just smart to have found the whole and the holy grail that Google is bulding it's algo on.
I have always said that any human being can trick any algo! It's like a virus and Microsoft OS. Anybody can come up with a trick that does break anything and Google claims they have PhD's and all that but if you are a true hacker (i.e. a great programmer) you can find the holes pretty easy like this guy have done.
Not only is Google suffering from this, we are suffering a lot because we get less visitors and if we have AdSense we loose money.
Someone mentioned Matt Cutt's but he doesn't seem to care. I have asked hime about sites that have scraped content from my sites and is just spamsites like this one but he either deletes them or doesn't even answer. Not sure if he is back from his vacation (where else in US can you get that many weeks off when there is a crisis like this?) or even if it is a vacation. Maybe he got fired because he couldn't fix this crap for months!!

Well , after I did some SEO research I found out that not only http://subdomains.site.com are threated separated, but also
    http://site.com/directory is threated separated!!!
if you don't belive me, go to google sitemaps and add:

http://site.com <--- se that you can add it!
    http://site.com/page.php <------ you can't add it!
http://site.com/sub-dire <------ you can add it! and google is threating it very diferently, just take a look at your crawl stats if you don't belive me L :)

    http://site.com/directory

Man aren't all subdomains and domain names added as an A record in the DNS servers?!

So how can you point *.site.com to redirect ?! If he created 7 billions sub-domains he also fxxx up all ISP DNS servers all over the world... with 7 billions more entries.... nobody really knew about him?!

It's done with apache mod-rewrite, so there's no need for real subdomains ... read the previous posts ...

Well it can also be done how I described; you don't need 7 million entries-- there is a special Apache directive to resolve all *.wildcard subdomains to the root, then your script can process it from there.
