I can't imagine how much money the Indians behind these are making.

Think how far those dollars go in India.

Unbelievable, but bloody fantastic. Clever fella's.

Abhishek: Why don't you try and scoop an exclusive interview with the company if they are behind the sites. ;)

Earlier this month, Google's CEO, Mr Eric Schmidt told reporters that his company wants to maintain its dominance in the search area by making a "heavy, heavy investment in new search algorithms".
(An algorithm is a problem-solving computational procedure and is the building block for all search engines.)

Mr. Schmidt said that although the company had expanded in many directions, its core focus was still in search and search-related advertising.
"We have more people working on search than ever before," the New York Times quoted him as saying. "You will see better search, more personal search and more international search."

He said Google engineers were being encouraged to spend 70 per cent of their time on search-related projects.

GREAT! Just Great!! We're all f***d:eek:

Re the wildcard sub domain thing - you also need it setup in your DNS zone files. I do it for a few of my sites.

Hey maybe this is why Eric Schmidt said they were running out of disc space - spammers are taking it all up

Search e for the letter "a"
    Results 1 - 10 of about 23,340,000,000 for a. (0.14 seconds)

and one spammer has 25% of this.

Maybe soon one of these spammers will totally automate the spam site creation process. Including the domain buying, hosting, and configuration, etc.

Then google can realize its ultimate goal of indexing a googol* pages.

    *1 followed by 100 zeros :p

This guy have more than 8billion pages indexed on google. None of his pages are cached on google so let's just say on average each page from his site take up about 25k of google's database so 8 billion pages will add up to about 200TB. Whatt???? How can google possibly miss this?

What it really is, it's FRANKENSEARCH! It's out of control, the usual ordered calm of the Googleplex is shattered with white-coated scientists running everywhere screaming, "It's loose! It's escaped!", while outside the Plex on the Google Mountain an angry mob of webmasters are hammering at the doors waving flaming torches and pitchforks...

Now that would be big news, indeed!

BTW, what the heck is a bad data push anyway? I've never heard of such a thing before and how could any one site show 8 billion pages indexed even if there was such an animal as a bad data push. Most likely someone else at Google will come up with a better explaination on Monday because I don't see this whole thing going away without a decent explaination.
