Need some advice... Whats best solutions for a small business network consisting of 6 PCs, and 3 laptops. All currently stand alone but will be networked together. New server on order for December but need an OS.

    Any suggestions?

I have looked on google but all these different licences are confusingme :S Not a big MS fan so not sure what to do.

    Why don't you use Linux?
It more reliable than MS and it FREE

My Recomendation - Ubuntu LTS Sever version, with eBox. Works great.

I set up to one similar Ubuntu file server to one company - last time I visit them - uptime was more than 200 days! This server is samba and file server - Samba primary domain controller for workstations and file sharing.

Can you still setup user policies and restrict internet?

Yes - look to eBox website (use Google). Its gives lot of possibilities.

Another good server distribution is also former eSmith, now SME Server.
