    Hi,

I am about to launch some new sites and I want them to rank high on google. They are static sites and will be designed to make me some cash.

How do I get these new sites to end up high on google quickly? I have my own site and a lot of those pages rank high now but I've been fiercely marketing that site and the content. I don't want to put a much effort into these static sites..

    any suggestions?

You should think about competition. There is no secret how to quickly and easy get ranked higher. You can try to go into less-competitive niche or try to find some very good keywords which are frequently searched by users but not too much competitive (e. g. don't try to rank for "web hosting" but for something like "quality web hosting service in New York".

if the keyword is travel, then u don't stand a chance
However, if it's a long tail keyword then u stand a good chance

Search engine optimization is what you are looking for and it is not something that would deliver results overnight. It is a gradual process and has a gestation period for a couple of months, especially for new websites. As already pointed, ranking on long tail keywords is a good option and would also benefit of qualified traffic. Once you have established these rankings you could start work to rank on more generic keywords.

Try building some good solid links right off the bat! THis will tell Google that you are a semi trusted site to start out because you are found through a trusted and authoritative site in your niche. If google finds you first through some random directory or a low ranking site, then you will be put into that neighborhood of sites because you are telling google that is who you are and that is what you are like. You need to tell the big G that you can hang with the big Guys and rank high and thats what will usually happen.

    Good Luck!

If you do not already have properties that rank well from which you can link, be bold and directly approach existing, established, ranking sites with similar, relevant content and ask them to link to you. Eventually one of them will say yes.
