It's not about a number, it's about quality. One link from a main page on bbc.co.uk would instantly boost your PR to 1. Equally so a few one way links from topically related websites with PR 0 can get you to PR 1. There is no simple formula like x number of backlinks = y pagerank.
There is nothing as such... PR depends on few other factors too... We need to build quality links from trusted and most visited sites. For instance, if you have few links from PR6 and above sites, the link benefit will also be shared to you and boost your rank. I suggest you read "Page Rank algorithm". google it with the same keyword.. you may learn a lott.. good luck
Just make sure you get relevant link and probably get a few PR3... Probably that you get you PR1 on the next updates..
to be fair, if you've just started a new website the LAST thing you should be concerned with is your page rank.
yeah a lot of people are worried about PR. Forget PR worry about quality links related to your niche.
PR is the result of good quality backlinks but you shouldn't focus entirely on page rank. Just keep building backlinks and increase your rankings in the SERPs to get more traffic.
not worry about pagerank, it's true, but in some fields pagerank doest count a lot for starting well your website, I have 2 4PR sites and 1 3PR, and now I started another one, a directory site that would work 10x better if my pagerank was at least 2, but I think it's too early for that, it only has 2 months , well I'll be waiting....
