It's been that way since 2009 actually... so as long as you've been a member, threads were always sorted by thread creation time in Buy/Sell/Trade areas.

so this is a way to disable pm function for spammers and brokers that throw their email address in threads, so they dont have to negotiate here, right? (links buy/sell section)

Everything looks great except for the minimum likes rule. Even that too should be fine once I achieve it.

I just was looking over some of the marketplace analytics... comparing the 2 weeks before the switch to the 2 weeks after the switch, here are some interesting stats for stuff after the switch:
    • Less threads (as expected)
    • More bids
    • More sold items
    • Higher average selling price on sold items
From that, it seems to be working... less items, higher quality items, higher quality buyers, etc.

Yes just wait for few more weeks we will see real results for surly! People who only come forum to buy something are not able to create threads so threads are less although I think in next 3-4 weeks we will see more positive states for surly.

In my own profile I can see "Likes You've Received", which is interesting to see. Is there something similar on other people's profiles that I am missing. I think it would be cool to see what other people posted and were "Liked" for. Sort of a "best of" of their posts.

It might be cool to add it to people's profiles so others could see their well liked posts.

So I just went to look at someone's profile so I could see the threads they have started. I got an error page saying:

I guess users can block people from seeing their started threads with that privacy setting. I think people should be able to look up a users posts and started threads regardless of privacy settings. Or is their some other way to get there that I didn't find?

EDIT: I just found my own workaround by putting that member's user number into the url in someone else's profile. But I think it should be easier than my fix. :D

Did you ever think of adding some sort of metric like a 'quality ratio'

This is obviously just a snapshot in time, but I think it is somewhat interesting and provides a nice little incentive for people with plenty of likes (not that they need it) to keep up with their helpful, quality posting. It might be an interesting little calculation you could put in a profile or somewhere.

    * I just randomly grabbed people from some threads that were currently showing and tried to grab a mix of people with at least 1 like.

You didn't told us why you did it? Why did you switch from vB to this? Something didn't work well? There were spammers then, now I can expect even more of that with Likes in game :D.
