Feature New Site...

As you have probably noticed by now, we are running on a completely new site... Long story short, it's been an insane amount of work to rewrite all of digitalpoint.com from scratch under a new framework. This has been going on behind the scenes since October, 2011... and has amounted to about 1.5 million lines of code.

That being said, I'm sure there's going to be a crazy amount of questions about things and I'm sure I'm going to be up for weeks 24/7 fixing things and putting out fires. It's certainly not perfect in it's current form, but we will work towards getting it there.

The site is better and quick now. Only suggestion is it will be readable if the site is 100% width.

Also... right now things are running much slower than they should be. The search index is in the middle of doing a full rebuild of it's index and user caches are being rebuilt. Long story short is the servers are pooping on themselves right now trying to get it all done quickly.

I also love the revised rules. Straight and to the point.

Oh yeah, I'm sure the issue with people no longer able to access Buy/Sell/Trade is going to come up... just too much pointless gibberish posts to get people to 25 posts, so now we have a thing called "Established Users" where the focus is on quality, not quantity. You can post 5,000 posts, but if they are all crappy, you still will never get access to the marketplace.

In my oppinion, Times New Roman isn't working for forum.. Especially here it's looking like shit.. Also header button Digitalpoint Alpha is directing to dp.com, even from forums.. That's irretating too much.. Short version of the rules is awesome :) But forum in general loading too long.. QuickReply is looking nice..

Actually my help with moderation is still available for '25 posters' :D
Also it's good to add stick feature to posts.. So if i have 2 posts in a row for 15 minutes then next one will be sticked to the first one :)

Forum is slow because of the backend reindexing that is going on (see previous post).

The header link to www.digitalpoint.com is intentional. Unfortunately, I messed up on the TTL for that sub-domain, so if you are still seeing the old site, sorry... just have to wait for the DNS change to make its way to you. Or if you know how to override a DNS entry on your computer via hosts, you can set it to 216.9.35.59 to see the new one now.

Do you have a URL where you could upload the image so I could take a look at it?

Bring Back The Old Theme !

This theme is inferior in so many manners such:
Colors: header is ok, the forum itself is not comfortable to the eye, no good contrasts.
Font types and sizes: Not good mixture of font types and too many sizes. I would recommend using verdana or calibri.
Screen-fit: there should be more of like 85%+ width, (now it seems like 50% of the screen width to me as I have wide screen).
Slow: I hope that really because of the maintenance.

    Regards,
    Tom
