Hello guys, When launching a new site what are the best things to do when it comes to SEO ? Another question : getting too many backlinks too fast will get your sandboxed, penalized somehow ?
Absolutly, do not get back links, I don't want the competition. Thanks I think that is the biggest piece of mis-information ever published. The guy who said that was an SEO guy that got put in his place and had to say something bad IMO.
StudioWorks, What noppid was telling you (always listen to what he says BTW) is that if your site is brand new you are probably going to have a filter applied against it regardless of what you do. There are some here a DP that say they've been able to get sites out sooner than the normal 4-8 month fitler phase - read through the archivess and you will learn a lot! In regards to links, if any site has a large and sudden increase in links/anchor text for a particular keyword its most likely going to have a filter applied to it. BUT. . . If your site is a new domain don't worry about it (you're penalized anyway) - focus on link building and content development. If it’s an established domain then you need to be more careful. For instance if you joined the ad coop and pointed 50k of weight at an established site with one ad you'd probably experience a filter for that keyword phrase. So if you're site is new go get as many backlinks as you can! If you have an old domain, get as many backlinks as you can (but not too many in one week)! Hope this helps! -jay
I can't say for sure, but a lot of BLs all at once might look suspicious to the latest spiders. A natural pattern is more likely to give benefits. A link (or a small group of links) a day, keeps the sandbox away!
I did exactly that with two sites. I'm very very pleased with the results. I just can't see that being true. Can we have an example?
I've experienced it. I have a 5 year old PR 5 site that had 46 backlinks (many .gov and .org high PR links). I pointed 20k weight at it for two weeks with real estate related keywords (before I was ranking #40-60 in G). For three weeks I had the number one spot for all permutations of the keywords then dropped out of the index. That was 4 months ago - I'm just now starting to show back up. During the entire period I've been at allinanchor/allintext/allintitle #1 or #3. Reading the G patent made it clear to me what happened and I firmly believe that on a percentage basis too many links too fast will result in a filter even for established sites with a lot of backlinks. -jay
Oki Doki, you read the bait, good for you. There is no public patent information that is real. Anyone that thinks there is is a fool. PERIOD. I'm not even debating this one.
My statement was that the patent backed up my experiences. I'm not sure why you feel the need to call me a fool for pointing out what has happened and trying to determine how the search engines react to different linking strategies. I think its irresponsible to advise new webmasters to dramatically grow links given what's happening with Google. I've experienced this and so have many others. Regardless, you are entitled to your opinion but your delivery and demeanor is offensive. -jay
But I will post this... How long does a patent last Is the google algo static? So anyone that claims to have accurate or even any "inside" or "patent" information is simply full of shit.
What's with the hostility? I've not insulted you, questioned skills or intelligence, implied that I know what Google's going to do or have inside information and in two posts now you called me a fool, told me I'm full of shit and acuse me of trying to predict what google will do next? What 's wrong with you? -jay
Jay are you still in tallahassee? I noticed that wakulla real estate link, people still live in wakulla
