I am definitely getting frustrated, i have been at this for months and have watched my earnings drop off the map....it seems that the more work and serious attention i put into the sites, the less i earn. If anyone could look at these (HRC.net is my latest attempt....) and tell me where i am going wrong (and perhaps what i am doing right) i would be sincerely grateful. Previos Msg: This site is a work still (and forever) in progress, but i could use some advice regarding placement, colors, blending etc before i get too far into it and have to change alot. Thanks evrsomuch. I have only had 1 click and the site has been up for a week and steadily seeing more content and more traffic, so i'm not doing something i should be... - DJ2xS www.hotrodsclassics.net | www.cokeclassic.net | www.trickshotz.com
The homepage kinda goes beyond my 1024 x 768 screen and have to scroll horizontally for the complete view.. The ads are blended in nicely but i think you would be better off having some navigations buttons/links to the left and then a small vertical banner below that so it looks more genuine..
No its fine ... I jumped to conclusions too fast you wanted a review on the ads and not the website.. so its fine here
Yep.. the entire page should be visible across the width instead of a person having to use his horizontal scrollbar.. IMO
Now its looking good Can you move the HRC Member Login above the ads on the left .. i think that will look better..
I put up some links to the main site stuff on the left (made 'em look Googlish ....hows that for blending?). Do you mean put the login where the girl/hotrod pic is...or perhaps below it. PS; Thanks for the help...much appreciated.
ok, i really revised it this time....not sure if too much or not enough. I would say the ads are blended well enough (from a laymans POV) but feel like something is missing.....more pics perhaps?
I like your site. Usually I am very distracted by the Google ads but I noticed your links are more interesting than the google ads displaying. Maybe you aren't getting many clicks because your visitors don't want to leave My sister is going to kill me but I saved your URL to give to my brother in law. He loves fixing up cars and is always going to car shows.
Thanks very much Rebecca! I am trying to make a thoroughly enjoyable website with lots of valid content, so it important to me that someone actually found it useful enough to bookmark it. My roommate has a '38 chev pickup and a '39 chev pickup, a '57 cop-car and a few more..... he is very knowledgable and will be hosting the forum once all the bugs are worked out. Incidentally, he will also be the once answering any questions re. hot rods, etc. so if your brother is curious about anything, feel free to drop us a line. of course...more ad clicks would be nice.
