Hi - I've a relatively new site - posted Jan06 and we have built a modest number of backlinks - 10 or so. 2 of these links are PR7 and PR8, could we be penalised for acheiving links with such high ranks at an early stage? Any comments would be appreciated! Nathan
That's a good first question, and one I would like to get answered myself. From a reputable source I have read obtaining very high pagerank links for new domains isn't such a good idea, as things do not appear natural. When I refer to high pagerank sites, those being PR8 and higher. It would make sense if google did devalue links which appeared unnatural like this. I would love for this topic to develop further with members sharing some of their expierences.
It doesn't quite make sense to me. If I had a PR8 site and wanted to link to a new great site, why would that be unnatural?
This usually doesn't happen unless someone buys a high PR link for their PR low website. Linking to a high PR8 site will increase our PR if the link is on theme...
