    You can start building backlinks for your website and this will help you rank better in google.
    When i started i was a bit con fused.
    I took help from a guy named Gambbit in warriorforum.com he would build backlinks for you and he charges very less for it.
    You may consult him and he will definitely help you build backlinks and make you rank better may be in your keyword search ,he helped me to get #1 in my keyword may be he would do the same.

    My 2 cents are that you just need to write good articles and visitors will come without doing anything else. You need only to wait until the search engines will index your website.

    When you start it is kinda a pain, but once you get the hang of it you can submit a site in no time. Especially when you already have an account set up. By the way one tip for you try making friends within the community that way when you submit you will have a few people that will give you a bump.

    Joining here is certainly a great way to promote. You may also consider social networking sites and website promotion sites. As for me, I have joined some surfing sites and in return the members also visit your site. This way you gain a lot of traffic.
