    Hey guys,

I found that there were lots of searches for terms such as eradicate wasps and wasp delivery system so I optimised my site for these terms (eradicate-wasps.com) and wrote an ebook on the topic. According to most of the keyword tools (http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/index.php is the one I used) there is like 1000 searches a day for the 2 keys combined and my site sits pretty in the top 10 but I'm getting NO traffic whatsoever.

What's going on? Why is this? Are keyword tools just totally inaccurate or have I missed somethin

    Thanks
    tom

Being in the top 10 isn't always enough. In some niches people will find what they are looking for from the top 2 - 3 sites and/or the ads. Then they will have no reason to check out #4 - 10.

You should also check to see if you have those rankings on other data centers and from different search locations.

By the way, the Google keyword tool (https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal) shows much lower search volume for those keywords. It doesn't have any stats for people searching for 'wasp delivery system'.

Don't trust the numbers shown in keyword tools very much... instead of targeting two three phrases.. think about targeting many related keywords (even with lower counts). And most of the time users may use various phrases related to a subject and most of them are with less counts so keyword tools won't show them... so rather than focusing on few specific keywords... try to vary..

Yes, you should target those keywords which actually describe your product or service. You key phrase must be searched from your targeted market. For example you have target "abcd" keyword and your targeted audience are not searching for that one, they are using some other keyword than there is no meaning of your targeted keywords.
