Ok so we just launched a new site http://www.internetfavorites.net/ Normally I don't have a problem SEO optimizing any of our sites. This one is different because it's really not a content related site. It's an online bookmark manager. Other than key words, how else can I optimize this site? Cant really write articles etc... I am open to suggestions.
you could just write articles for your website and make your site into a multi-page mini site. These articles could be related to your bookmark manager program and if you are able to funnel all of your traffic from these articles back to your main website it will also help you get more sign-ups or whatever your call to action is...
Creating some articles would indeed help boost your site ..If you dont like to write articles you can asked someone to do it for you ...
If you don't have content you've got to build links like crazy. The best thing for a site like this though is that your members might be fans - perhaps you could offer a widget for your members to post their favourite bookmarks onto their blogs? I know that's getting border line social and it's one of your sites USP's, but could generate you some links.
My opinion: I am not sure how a bookmarking site can benefit from SE traffic. Most of the traffic DIGG or other such sites get will be through referrals or word of mouth. Work to make your site unique in some way. "Me Too" sites generally dont work well these days
