New site design

I have an old domain with decent PR. However, I want to revamp the design entirely. However, I don't want to lose page rank.

Will an entirely new design and content overhaul ruin my established page rank?

no, it won't make you lose ur homepage pr, however u have to keep the same internal structure if you don't want to lose inner pr.

Not true 301's will retain PR and if you improve content as well as pair it up with King Contents main Queen "presentation" not only will you retain PR once it settles your SERPS (if U get it right) will improve as well.

Relevations-Decoder, why are u trying so hard to confuse the OP ?, why are u talking about 301's ?? this guy is not changing his domain name, he just wants to give his old website a new look and some fresh content.

    jezzz.

I am not trying to confuse mario - content to me means text - this can include URL structure which to me is a part of a content overhaul :) Domain name changes have nothing to do with things as 301 and 404 are the best ways to add things/leave things imho

However, I will be restructuring page hierarchy. I was planning on using 301's to point the old pages at the places in the new structure. Will that help to retain the old PR?

301 redirect is the best option for that

Till you don't change the domain name, you will not get any change in your PR. Don't bother and go ahead in making your site better.
