Nice website, will read the complete story later.. At all the subpages the link to [ Sign up for the Chitika eMiniMall program here ] is pointed to wrong url. not with your ref id in it.

Thanks! The refid is masked onmouseover though. I hate affiliate links with such blatant "referrals" since people always fear about losing their own commissions when signing up second level (I'm guilty of this myself). I might remove the onmouseover, but I'm not sure. It would be nice if they gave us a link like http://chitika.com/1252_overview.php where the number is your affid.

If the content is great and you give a fair description of your findings with chitika I would use your ref from the website to sign up.

You could use a redirect from your page something like: http://chitikatips.com/signup.php In the signup page you redirect to chitika with your ref in it.

I do something similar to that with my signature here, it also means I can log referals in a database so I know which links on which forums are being followed most. I also saw one today where somebody had got a close misspelling of chitika and was redirecting that with their refid.

Nice looking site by the way.

Ahhhh excellent solution, thank you both. I do something similar on my supp site; I wasn't bright enough to make the connection over here.

ps. my "chikita" page is going up shortly... should be plenty of misspelling traffic since I was still doing it halfway through development.

    Pros:
Great concept, Great content, good contrast, nice layout, easy to navigate.

    Cons:
Really small fonts, the logo tagline needs more punch (more contrast at least).

    Overall:
    Great idea, effective website.

    Question:
How long do affiliate finders fees last for Chitika? Are you getting a piece of your referrals' action for life or set period of time?

    Cheers!

Thank you for the excellent comments. I agree about the tagline needing more contrast. Are the fonts small to others out there as well? They're a bit on the small side to me, but readable.

Now that I've done some more searches, I've found some others with the same idea-- someone grabbed Chitika . org and there is also eminimalls . com.. but I don't think either have any real information. I'm going to work on creating a Chitika click tracker if I get a spare hour or two and offer that for free on the site as well. (and thanks to the one person who signed up from here yesterday-- good luck)

I've added a new section now that has code unique to the site -- allowing you to display different keywords depending on the day of the week and also to allow you to "spy" on your visitor's referral link and show them a product based on their SE query. Both of those are ideas from DP members.

Thanks! Both of those ideas came from members here so if you have any ideas on additions or tricks you'd like to see programmed, let me know and I'll let you know if it is possible to code.
