Hi I have just launched a shopping portal website and am looking to populate it with uk shopping feeds. How best to attract merchants. The site provides listings free of charge and each product listing contains a dofollow backlink.

Is this a directory? If it is you can promote it here: https://forums.digitalpoint.com/forums/directories.25/
Strong social media presence may help. Do you have a FB business page? And/or accounts on IG, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.? Just recently I started a FB group and it's been steadily growing. It has 3K+ members. Eventually, it will be a great venue to promote my own offers. Start your own group. There are hundreds of FB groups that will allow you to promote your new site. Join as many as you can. A word of caution, FB is sensitive about how much and how often you post. Just use common sense.

Start small, once your site is populated with various smaller merchants, it will then possibly become more attractive to bigger ones.
