Well I just got my self a new server and I have just finished installing cpanel and CSF,

I am wondering what else should I have for security?

    Thanks

probably a million other things, but start with Mod_Security. it integrates great with CSF.

As Tearabite said, there are a million things you can do to make your server more secure.

    • Install mod_security
    • Install rkhunter/chmodkit and set up cron jobs for them
    • Install the cPanel clamav connector
    • Disable telnet
    • Change your SSH port and consider using SSH keys instead of password authentication.
    • Disable direct root login in SSH
    • Disable dangerous functions from PHP
    • Install suPHP / Suhosin

There's a few more for you to think about. :p

    Hi,
We can optimize your server and secure it completely within 1 day. After that, you will receive a complete detailed report explaining all the operations that we made.
The price is $49 one time payment.
Please send a PM if you are interested.
    Thanks

below are all correct and useful security tools
in addition i scan server using nessus - with ALL security SW disabled !
and also have snort running as daemon
further I keep my site simple and avoid fancy stuff / fancy SW

that keeps my fairly good sleeping - with at least half a dozen hack attempts per day and quantities of basic hacker stuff all being swallowed ( and logged ) each DAY by a.m. security SW.

They are pretty good. I know someone who has their server managed by them and are having no problems at all.
