submit to directory as you could find one. be active member of DP and put your link in your signature.

Link exchange in this DP forum is a great source to get links as well.
Got money? then invest in payperpost and buy links from DP member.

You also need to work on your keyword density (using headings: <h1> tags, alt tags, etc, etc).

Maybe you want to check out seobook.com for some more tips

if you want to do it hassle free, pay some one and let him do it!

but then if you want to do your self, then here are a few points,
go though the directories, search on dp, for directory lists, then simply add you site,
try link exchange and buy links.
write articles, and add you link, in your article. this is the best way, and it works great.
stay away from link farms, and everything will be hassle free:)

The only way to avoid a hard work in SEO, you have to pay someone to do it for you.

SEO takes time and lots of effort. And of course, you need to gain some knowledge of it before you can actually start it.

You can get basic tips here and there but dont expect a world class seo to give up his or her secrets to you as no one would do this.

Wikipedia links won't give you any SEO value - Wikipedia just recently started using nofollow's on all outbound links.

You could also create some blogs and have back links coming from the blogs. Use a RSS feed to create automatically new content each day for the blogs.

I wouldn't say hard... Maybe a lot of work. but hard? I know people who dropped all formal schooling in middle school and making a few thousand a month online.

Now being a chemist, thats hard.

What you want is a hussle. Its hard work anyway you bend it. Why dont you submit your site to a few directories every day. Use FF plug-in InFormEnter.

Everything requires hassle or effort. You can't sit back and hope that you'll have success without working towards your desired goal.

Nobody will know you exist if you don't make yourself known. Making yourself known is work.

Nobody will link to you if your page has no content or hasn't been updated in seven years. Updating content is work.

Whatever way you spin it, you have to labor to be a success.
