I think that we should have a Tutorial section about everything(not DP related) cuz it would really help the members.

I think that's the first time that this has been suggested. Sounds a solid practical idea to me. I know there's certain questions that I would like answered about things and it would save my blushes if I just headed to the relevant tutorial.

Discussion of tutorials or selling them? either way seems unnecessary.

It would be a tutorial that has 1 post and gets locked.

    Like

Tutorial : How to connect to a MySQL database using php

With 1 post inside. obviously a pre-thread would have to be created where members input was summed up to create a final bug free post.

This is a webmaster forum, not a tutorial site. So, i think it is unnecessary. No offence btw :)

i think it would be good as lonv as the tutorials were webmaster related(programming,SEO, etc.) but the posts would all have to be tutorials... Maybe a subforum for tutorial requests?

I would love a section about tutorials especially if they could make video tutorials about mysql, script installation and many more for newbies like me.

A tutorial forum has been suggested once before, and while the thread has been closed (at the request of the OP) the suggestion was never really resolved.

People come here to learn. Tutorial threads would prevent a lot of the simple questions being asked. Content is king.

yeah makes sense - BTW: webmaster forum is a place to pick up things and learn stuff so tutorials fit with the forum.

Only problem is moderation etc - The mods and admin have to then check every tutorial - means they have to know about the subject matter and be a bit of an expert in the field, as they are "locking it". Also a problem might arise with copyright etc as i have seen a thousand information blogs that have just ripped sites and copied them in their own blogs. This forum is then open to copyright infringment is a member cut and pastes a "tutorial" just for additional rep etc.

I think its a good idea but its the Mods and the admin that have to "clean the thread" and make it a viable tutorial.

Quoting the source of the tutorial with a linkback can overcome this.
