New Search Engine Launched Today, Like.com

Cool new search engine launched yesterday that allows consumers to search for products by appearance rather than just text. When a user clicks on an image of an item, Like.com will compare that item’s shape; color and texture to millions of other similar images found on the internet and display the best matches. It looks like Like.com is initially focusing on a few shopping categories like handbags, watches, jewelry, watches and shoes; and then allows consumers to purchase directly from Amazon.com.

    Just blogged it: http://www.britopian.com/blog/2006/11/08/new-visual-search-engine-launched-likecom/

This is reasonably impressive but it's just putting products into different search categories instead of more categories which all sites should do.

I typed in 'jaguar car' and it came up with 'no results found'. I like the concept but may take a while to be something I would use regularly.

Its a good idea, but it needs to be developed to more than just shopping accesories. The domain is pretty sweet.
