Google has trillion pages in its index. 1 trillion = 1000 billion, right? May be cuil.com will catch up. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/07/27/BUOF11VR6J.DTL
Where did you get 1 trillion? They had 8 billion pages last year. There is no way in hell google is anywhere even remotely close to a trillion pages.
I have just been reading about this on Reuters at least i understand the name now. It didnt make sense before. I gave it a try and quite liked it. I didnt have a problem with speed, so it may have been improved during today. I tried a quick search for a popular search term and found 10,000,000 results compared to googles 1.8 million.
i saw this on bbc i tried a keyword and i got only a few results, i like the layout of it though but i dont think it will kill off google.
I like how it shows results. I don't like black colour. It is very slow. The fact it is slow, it isn't a good sign.
i love too these colums results, but im using firefox with some google extensions, so my google searches looks like i want
I have the impressions, these are dilectants. It isn't possibile it is so slow. When you search a result on a Big Search Engine, they should have "index" ready, so it is slow, it means, they create the index at "user search"... That is the worst thing that a Big Search Engine can do. They need to go school again, I think. For now, Yahoo is the most probable future Google Killer.
They've taken a set of photographs from my site and are using them to illustrate the entries for my 'competitors' sites whilst my site is not listed. Luckily my copyright statement includes a license that allows this but details the fees for doing so. I have therefore invoiced them for £4000 for August. This saves all that DMCA and copyright violation arguements. Don't laugh - the last violator paid up an early termination fee of £250
Based on my minimal testing, I cannot see myself using cuil for anything more than rank checking for my keywords. I'll stick with Google until there are some significant improvements to the quality of the search results.
It's damnably slow, and their images are way off. They could at least use image thumbnails from the site in question, instead of random images from completely unrelated websites. Also, what's with saying 756 results for [QUERY] and then only showing 3?
just type the URL in the search and see whether they have indexed already. Most of my sites got indexed
what is it for??? what kind of search engine with bad alexa rank, The search button hurting my eyes....
