I just got this email today... The URL was linked to http://members.tripod.com/fh23r2h3r1r4t.1/qr.php?t=8 Go ahead and get your $500 now.... lol Interesting thing: Scammer is using some XSS to redirect the visitors
Hmm, there are many scam emails like this. Just have to learn to read the URL every time when you get an email link.
I get the one from the family of President Abula Zolrmera asking if they could deposit money in to my bank account every other day.. lol
You know, I nearly pocketed $45,700,000 last week, but Brahim Shumal copped out at the last minute Maybe I should have got that plane ticket to tanzania in the first place.
People are so desperate nowadays. The sad thing is though, I'll bet that there are many people who actually get scammed from these emails.
Desperate? I think that's putting it lightly. I expect some spend their whole lives, bouncing from internet cafe to internet cafe, in the hope of catching their victim. There is some good wiki articles on this.
that's not his intent of course, he's just trying to make people aware... the clever thing about this one though - it's a small amount, not $17million and it's Yahoo not the Prince of Bez La HEEEEEM from South Africa!
I had one the other night that was basically a transaction confirmation from pay pal for buying a plasma screen or something. That scared the crap out of me, i even had to quit my poker tournament.
God i just ignore all emails like this. If i get one, i just ignore it. Probably missed out on prizes, but hey, who cares
they're starting to get clever like that - not just the 'problem with your account' messages anymore. Some of the ones I've received lately are just really bad looking....look like poo, no paypal image header or anything & a craptastic looking font... you 'should' (or at least I do) fwd the messages to and likewise when you get them
I do not normally post them anywhere, but this was very interesting because it was actually using XSS exploit for URL redirection, which means a lot of people will be vicitims as rds.yahoo.com looks trusted source...
