Beat this. I am not the owner of this directory.(thank god I am not) To the owner: Dude you should get this into guinness book of world records. Win a prize or something.
Check back in a few days and I'll bet the number is even higher. To me, the real idiots are the ones who continue to submit.
Active links and pending links ratio 1:18 and yes dude submit ur record for review in guinness book inclusion.
I honestly never understood what was the point of listing the "pending links" etc stats on directories?
Yes I agree this is a useful feature of phpLinkdirectory. I have a question. Many directory owners disable this feature so is there any way we can use a script or something like that to know what's going on in the database? A hack or something? It shows the seriousness and commitment of the editorial staff. Number of pending links should be around 500-1000 if they are accepting and deleting links regularly.
500-1000 pending. To me, even that's a bit high. But, at least it shows the queue is probably being reviewed.
That's nothing to be proud of. There might a lot of other directories with such dubious numbers and we all know what to do such dirs.
500 - 1000 pending links is very high. Still looks like a bunch of spam to me. It just doesn't seem professional, especially if it is a premium/paid directory. You can't tell if the links are being maintained unless you come back everyday to see if the pending links count has increased or decreased. By checking the latest links section in the directory, I guess you can see new links being approved and when they were approved to see if the owner is frequently editing the link queue.
I have my own free directory which gets 100-200 submissions per day. It isn't possible for me to review links everyday or every couple of days. I usually approve links every once in a week. Trust me my routine is far better then most directory owners who only approve featured links. Keeping the regular links option for free is only a ploy (by them) to get more featured submissions.
Two thoughts... By waiting 2-7 days, I would think it would be too easy to 'review' sites purely based upon their descriptions and approve a lot of stuff that shouldn't see the light of day. I don't see it as a ploy as much as "bait and switch". Since I'm not a fan of being taken for a fool, I don't bother submitting at all.
It's been only a few days... Active Links: 9795 (+0) Pending Links: 187485 (+1,044) Todays Links: 210 (really???) Total Articles: 80 (+0) Total Categories: 13 (+0) Sub Categories: 687 (+0) So much for they're only approving the paid ones. I wonder how many "quality directories of directories" are supporting this site and others like it.
I love how most of the scripts make displaying this information a default setting. The get rich quick folks don't bother to change anything from the default and it allows submitters who care about quality to know it's a site not worth submitting to. On the other had, a well-run directory can really benefit from showing the stats. It's impressive when a general directory owner can keep the numbers low.
Here is a new record. Beat the other one by a mere 80,000. Our site keeps track of the non-approving free directories.
Maybe David and Simon should consider adding an automatic shut off submissions setting? Once the queue hits 100,000, the software automatically suspends submissions. lol
