I have an online store / Art Gallery with around 1050 paintings and other related products. I want to completely redesign the site using an e-commerce system/shopping cart program like Virtuemart, oscommerce, open/zen/cube cart etc or similar. I need the new site to have all the features of the current site as well as additional features that may help improve the site over what I have currently. I would like to hear what platform you recommend and would use if you won the project and why you think I should use that platform over others. (Several Magento experts who would prefer to use Magento have suggested platforms other than magento would be more suitable so it might be necessary to look at other options or explain why you think Magento would still be suitable if that is what you are recommending.) The new shopping cart site is part of a portal of 2 sites on 2 separate domains. There is an information content rich site about the business that sits on a separate domain. I then link to the shopping cart/online gallery from there but the shopping cart has its own domain and has enough content that it could stand on its own as a complete website/shopping cart. Because of this I need the new shopping cart site to match the colours look, feel and overall design of the information site which is designed using Joomla. Or I need the information site updated with a new look, feel colours etc to match the new shopping cart. I would like to know the difference in cost between having the new shopping cart match the look of the older information site and starting with a totally fresh look and feel for the shopping cart and then updating the information site to match this (this would be my preference). Either way, I need both sites to have a standardised look and feel. I also require a SEO master to fully optimise the new shopping cart site and increase the already fairly good rankings, especially for my most important 2 word keyword phrase. Only designers who are also seo experts need apply. I have a reasonable idea about SEO so i need someone who is much better than me. Strictly White Hat SEO techniques only (Black Hat/ Grey Hat Techniques are not allowed at all). I can't stress this enough. I'm not interested in risking a google penalty at any cost and I know what black/grey hat techniques look like so please don't apply if you push the boundaries to the point a penalty is possible. Examples of success / SEO ranking increases with other clients is required as well as details of your background and seo experience. The more real client examples that can be quantified the better. I'm not looking for a basic quote with a few links to past sites designed (although i do want those things as well). I want someone who will outline a concept of what the new site will look like, what features it will have, what cool additional features could make it even better and why the platform they want to use is the best way to go. I also need someone to spend some time reviewing the current site to ensure that they can do all the things it already does on top of the new ideas they may have. On top of current site features i want to add a newsletter plugin/module that will enable html newsletters to have the same colours/graphics look and feel as the new site. I also require the quote to include the uploading of all current products onto the new site built on a temporary server location so on completion the new site can simply be transferred across to my domain and everything will be ready to go (Microsoft excel product data can be provided). All old URL's that don't match the new site will need to be 301 redirected to the new site to ensure a smooth transition and no 404's. I am not in any massive hurry.
