Very nice site, and potentially a great opportunity. Is there a list to sign up to be notified about your CB launch? A couple of comments about the site, if you don't mind. In the paragraph at the bottom of the landing page there are two typos: "influencial" and "tha". Also, I liked the fact that you can get a little way into the site without having to log in, but what I didn't like is that after I logged in it didn't redirect me back to what I was trying to do before it required me to log in. Instead, it took me to the guest account home page. I had to go looking for the link that had triggered the login requirement.
Oops! One more comment about the site. It exposes raw error messages from the server. Don't ever do that! You should fire your programmers. Here's the one I just saw: I suspect the error occurred because my session had timed out. But you need to have your programmers "trap" all errors and recover automatically, where possible (in this case redirect back to login page) or display a friendly error message. The untrapped error messages are not only ugly, they potentially give hackers too much information about your server environment.
The site itself is not brand new, however we're bringing the whole payment and affiliate program to CB literally today so we have no stats just yet, this is a pre-launch sneak peak and we'll still be creating all the landing pages, probably juicing up the home page and tour a little more, and will post stats/proof within a few weeks or months once there is enough data. We're very excited with this move, and because our markets are broad yet focused to a few niches we're looking forward to seeing what kind of effect this will have on the markets now that the affiliate program is managed through CB. With past efforts and having our own in-house program, we noticed newbies and interms would convert at 1-3% while the more experienced marketers would convert at 10-20 (though we had various levels of sign up from free to premium). This time we're taking a 'no freebie' approach, we give them enough, but limit functions until they pay. For those that have huge facebook and myspace accounts, you may be sitting on a goldmine with this - most people are sick of the spam, mile long scrolls, invasion of privacy, stupid retention campaigns getting you back to the site, bombarding your inbox... anyway, this is a premium community and i'm sure many will see the value if they are existing SN members elsewhere - so grabbing a banner or code to plug on your pages with other social sites could be a rev. stream right away. There are many 'pay to play' sites popping up. Well, the plan here is a bit the same but a bit different. Once you go through the site you'll see why and how our promotional efforts and prime database is worth the cost and will be easy to sell to targeted clicks. Feel free to keep asking questions, this has been around for a while and has been a rollercoaster ride to date. Now we're going to let others monetize our existing resources and brand name. Hey NC, I've been following you around these parts and am consistently impressed by the creativity coming from you and your team. What can I say other than really, really nice work! Seems we're having some trouble with ClickBank, they see our site as 'adult' related - I'm working with them to remove whatever they want me to remove (we have tons of models and photographers, and there is sexy photos but nothing sex related). Kinda odd as there are products with tons of adult/safe sex/master the bedroom/grow your **** and other products that are much more sex/adult oriented - we're a sexy community but that's about it, though I'll admit i'm walking on tippy toes and do hope they approve the site soon... will keep you all posted. Will you be running your own affiliate program then? There are several software packages that are fairly easy to tie into PayPal subscriptions. The only thing they won't do for you that ClickBank would have is to pay out the commissions.
Run it with Jrox JAM, and use Googlre Checkout, you'd save a fortune and have an even better site. I think they have an offer on currently as well. Highly recommended, it's the best afilaite script by a country mile!
Sorry to hear that. that's a great site there. I'm sure if you could list it on commission junction and offered to pay out the same commission, you'd get quite a buzzzz off it. Good luck for the future.
Thank you guys, 1. I would like to utilize a popular/well established network (cb, cj, paydot, azoogle, whatever). I've had an in-house system before and it's a) A b**ch to maintain all the commission checks/aff maintenance b) Affiliates are much harder to recruit to in-house systems re trust c) There are many existing pools (i.e. this forum) of affiliates that are easier to target and get buzz going with... 2. CJ takes 3K-5K upfront plus 30%, not worth it imo for this site, any other input on other networks would be great. ShareResults offers a nice self-serve package - Anyone have experience with them? 3. The reason we got rejected is because we host thousands of models and photographers and talents content - and model/photographer portfolios are very sexy (no straight up adult ish, but it's edgy/implied), so I need a system that accepts riskae (risque?) content. 4. I think it was a bad move on CB's behalf, i was willing to remove all the sexy stuff, and we have 10K members which we would have trained to become affiliates or publishers or both - they said no to potentially upping their DB by 10K within a few weeks... knowing this, it would be great to utilize the info to capture the interest of other networks - again does anyone have the experience with a similar scenario yet? Please share! 5. Despite our speed bump, yes this site and offer can be lucrative, I would be willing to take on a consltant to take us through the above for a fee if it makes sense, we were really banking on CB, and created a HUGE aff library with them in mind, so we have tons of marketing material ready to go, and just need to wrap a reputable network around it.
