Hey gang! We just got approved by CB to release a new product. It's called Make Your Own eBook Covers. It is NOT just another Photoshop Action Script. The way it came about was this: I had some eBooks that I wanted to release, but wasn't sure how well they'd do. I don't like paying a graphics designer up front for a product I don't know will succeed. I'd rather do it myself. (OK...I'M CHEAP!) And I couldn't afford to buy Photoshop, let alone buy it AND an Action Script for another $50 to $100. I had been using GIMP (free graphic software) to do all my web graphics. But I could NOT figure out how to do a good-looking eBook cover on GIMP. I searched around the internet alot for GIMP tutorials, etc., and found nothing (except other people asking the same thing). So a friend of mine (who is a wiz at graphics software) and I decided we'd just figure it out ourselves. Of course, as we were getting it, I'm thinking "dang...we should write a guide on how to do this!" And that's how this product came about. Key points: - People want eBook covers. - Some people don't have/can't afford Photoshop + Action Scripts - Resources included to help with design, finding license-free graphics, fonts, etc. - Resources included to help sell eBook cover graphics The hoplink is: http://XXXXXX.1digital1.hop.clickbank.net/ - only replace the XXXXXX with your ClickBank affiliate ID. We're new to this niche, and I only have one other product released on ClickBank. So I'm looking for feedback. I see this as an 'us working together' thing. Tell me what you as an affiliate would need to market this. Feedback on the sales copy would be good. Feedback on the price would be good...right now it's at $37 with 50% commission to the affiliate. I feel really good about the product because I think it is honestly satisfying a niche need that has little to no competition out there. I'm a bit worried about the price since I'm targeting folks who won't lay out the money for PS or Action Scripts. Oh...it has a secondary target audience: folks who want to do graphic design as a 'work from home' opportunity. We include a section on how to find folks who want to buy an eBook cover...so someone can use this guide to learn how to create the graphics and sell them. I look forward to your feedback.
I would put more emphasis on the fact that you can sell these ebook covers as a google search will bring up a few free high quality ebook cover action scripts that I use. I found each of the two I use in less than 5 minutes (and this was without even knowing what a PS action script was). I like that whole sell the ebook covers angle though. Maybe teach them about some forums where they can advertise their services, etc. Good luck!
I totally agree, try to give ideas to your potential affiliates on how to properly market this product because yes, if you search on Google for something like "ecover templates" you'll find LOTS of free resources most of them PSD files which GIMP CAN open and edit for free Good luck! Just try to find the best way to market it and that's it.
Thanks for the ideas. The PSD templates (which, you're right, GIMP can open), are just flat templates. You open it up and it's a pile of layers. Without the action script, getting it to be 3D in GIMP can be tricky if you don't know what you're doing. Now that you've pointed that out, I'm going to figure out how to work that into the guide...maybe a chapter on using free templates, and a list of where to get them! Plus I can put something on the sales page that indicates that it teaches how to take the online templates and make them 3D.
I'm looking for some feedback on this product. I gave some review copies away and never heard back from those folks. Most particularly I'm wondering about the price. My initial thought was to price it around $24. I raised it to the 'standard' $37, which so many affiliates seem to like. So, input from affiliates would be welcome. I'm also likely going to develop some banners, if you guys would be interested in that.
Updated the price to $24, and raised the affiliate payout to 51%. Getting good feedback on the product. We'll continue to adjust things as we hear from you.
Ah. The link in the original post is a dummy link. (And for some reason I can't go back and edit the post.) You can try: http://zzzzz.1digital1.hop.clickbank.net/ and replace zzzzz with your Clickbank ID.
We've just added some bonuses: - How to make Web 2.0 buttons (guide, video tutorial, and template) - 3 Videos showing how to make money with the program.
Hi ghalt, I think your money making guide will be an attractive one for we all as well as new people. And no doubt this is an 'us working together' thing.Thank you and am expecting more contributions from you.
