I don't think it is Fake PR, but the PR may not be credible. You must check the backlinks of this website. Use majecticseo.com and check it out. It has very less links that too not so credible links. I would expect a PR 6 links to have atlease few hundreds of links, some credible links from high PR website. So its just not a matter of PR as many said. We have to analyze the backlink profile of such sites and determine if it is worth the shot.

You have a point here. But I can argue that the term 'dirname' is an unix based computer program that is so popular that many sites like wikipedia has an entry. This has basically pushed down this site for ranking from this term.

However I don't agree that this directory is credible because of my above equation on backlinks.

Yes, LOTS of fakes and scams here in the domain selling section.

PR site which is FIVE DAYS old? Lol!

Those people should be banned because DP is becoming a joke with such people selling domains.

    Not a simple question.

    - Go to www.majesticseo.com and see its backlinks profile. If there is no solid PR links, it is more likely fraud.
    - Go to archives.org and see the history of domains. Some times the redirected version gets cached and you can find here.

Typically I have seen PR 7 cost starting from $4,500 and some goes till $35,000. If some one is offering less than this it is more likely to be fraud. Same time PR 8 cost starts from $10,000 and they are really really rare. In my experience I have never seen a legitimate PR 9 for sale.

    Yes it can - Sometimes.

That's what scamers do :) Why should legitimate people hide when there is nothing fishy! Think about it...
