I am seeing an increasing scam selling of Fake PR domain names in this forum. I want to bust those bad ass sellers and want to create some kind of awareness. At least this might save few folks at some point of time. Towards the end of this thread, there is a tweet message that is composed to Matt Cutts and Adam from Google web spam team. Please tweet and let them know about this. To identify this, I opened a thread in BTS forum asking for PR 7 and above domains. I got bunch of domain names. Upon analyzing them all those domains were fake. Here is the trick followed by those bad ass sellers. This seem to be the old school 301 exploit, but it is not. It is certainly more than that. Domain thekingkongblog.com - Reportedly sold for $2,600 Every good PR tool including rank checker showed that the domain PR is original. Even info:thekingkongblog.com Google search showed a cached version of this domain leading to a wrong notion that this domain might be original PR. Here are some screenshot for proof. The touch part is: Reputed PR tool fail to detect the fake PR. Google Toolbar didnt detect this. Google info search didnt show this. Google crawled this site showing a cached version of this domain. I was wondering how in the world that this domain is having PR 9 and started to dig on this. Accidentally saw the cached Google snippet for this domain and was shocked ! See here: This domain retrieved its PR from http://www.sciencemag.org which is a genuine PR 9 site. Here is what these guys do. 1) Redirect a newly registered / dropped domain to a high PR site. 2) Once PR is acquired they remove the redirection. 3) Quickly host a wordpress and fill with some content. 4) Allow Google to crawl the site. 5) Sell it at a good cost. My Testing: I did a testing following the same procedure. I redirected my PR 2 site to a PR 6 domain. Once it acquired PR 6, I removed the redirection. Surprisingly PR 6 dropped to its original PR (PR 2) in couple of days. This means, these guys are doing some other fraud to skip this step. I am not sure, what these guys are doing. Other domains that I researched: http://www.spasat.com - PR 10 - A guy was trying to sell this domain for $1,500 here. Original Domain: http://www.universitas21.com http://pd-baiu.net - PR 9 - A guy is selling this in flippa for $9,900. You can check it here http://gtopdirs.com - PR 9 - Unable to retrieve cache image for this. I am sure even this is a fake PR. This specific kind of fraud is being done by folks from Indonesia. We can not do anything unless and until Google takes some steps to bust these folks. There is no way we could eliminate this - But can only try to let Google web spam team know. Hence I am asking this help from you folks. Please copy paste this tweet message from your twitter box and hit the tweet button. Let's see if we get any voice from Google team. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ @mattcutts @thatadamguy New PR Fraud method detected - Detailed steps explained with screenshot http://goo.gl/966Qs Please fix this exploit ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is upto the individual buyers to check the domains before purchasing them. It is extremely easy to identify if the PR has been faked.
Well, why would I do that? Do you have any idea what the hell is going on outside? Read these: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo/372190-pr9-one-backlink.html https://flippa.com/2664311-fantastic-pagerank-9-domain-did-you-ever-imagine-to-have-it People are getting cheated by these methods. So if you can do anything positively on this, please do.
Thanks for sharing. Lol faking a pr10, most stupid thing I've seen this week. Sure my pr10 is real... only 1500$... LOL
I think this is a bit harsh considering he didn'r copy paste the article from elsewhere on the internet, and he is trying to help out the newbies.
yea.. just upto buyer.. my tips is before you buy a domain, please check the site cache in google by clicking the arrow button.. and check also the domain in google or trusted pr checker tools. If you are still not sure, You can ask to the domain master.. lol
This post isn't helpful at all. Back on topic.... this really is a new trick. Thanks for pointing out the cached technique. The rest seems legit information. I wonder what this people are doing it to maintain after removing the redirection. Whatever they do, thanks to samdar for bringing this out to the public.
Yes good post. whomever said this was just a spam post you must be one of the ones ripping people off.

For number 2-5 you right, but For number 1 : you must buy aged domain (deleted/dropped/not), buy on godaddy or else, why : Because after you doing done with number 2-5, you must blast domain with backlink, like senukex, scapebox or xrumer. if you blast with new domain, i know you site will get banned by google panda. I know this trick but i dont want use this trick to sell domain to you
