Yeah I've seen as much as -/+3 for many sites... Some of the junkiest sites have PR3 now. Nothing makes sense.
I think you don't have any idea whats the value of PR in SERP!PR is part of algorithm to rank in the SE. that why!-
Google so lame... www.google.com went from a PR10 to a PR 9...... I guess Google.com isn't as important as it once was....... edit: it's still a PR 10... :-(
Actually, what I meant was The normal GOOGLE PR algorithm still applies, however at the end of the day, PR5+ sites got a -1 to their PR regardless of SEO or no SEO. so Current PR 5 + 2PR (due to good SEO etc) - 1PR = PR 6 or Current PR 8 - 1PR (Due to poor SEO) - 1PR = PR 6 But really, at the end of the day its all about SERPS and I haven't seen any changes to the PR that directly impacted my SERPS results. however this maybe change in the near future.
thats why the title of this thread is new PR algorithm!Maybe google will change something on the algorithm! cause most sites drop and gain PR but same result on the SERP or maybe it will not affect that fast! I'm still observing!
Not true. Influence of PR in SERP is nihil and it was always nihil. By other thread aspire have give to us nice explanation: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=530734 and it is for me best likely to be true. I have never experienced any influence of PR on my site. PR seems to be interesting only for people who deal with links.
My design site has dropped from a PR4 to a PR1 and I have no clue why. I dont buy or sell links and I only have my links on related blogs and websites and social bookmarking sites. I'm still lost after a weekend of reading. Guess I'll just wait it out. I would like to know why so I don't make the same mistakes on other sites.
If anyone's interested, I'm pretty sure I've figured out the root of a lot of these issues. I'm not 100% to understanding what the algorithm changes were, but I think I'm on to something. Comments welcome, of course. http://www.slightlyshadyseo.com/?p=36 Edits will occur as quick as I think of extra points. What can I say, I'm on a roll
The way I see it... it's all random now. Penalize this, penalize that... run a random and get a number
my pr was down from pr5 to pr4, but serp is not changing, still at the same position.. so for me, decreasing pr did not affect to my traffic..
One could say that they are not selling 'paid links', that they are selling 'advertising', which is no different than Google Ads, other than it passes PR. If this is Google's gripe, then they should do away with PR, anyway. I was 'penalized', I suppose, for selling ads on my sites. I won't be removing them, just because Google doesn't have a better approach. They help support my sites.
I also was penalized, but agree that I won't be removing them. They should understand that this helps the little guys survive.
I can't understand what is happening. My website has almost no links, it is all content, and yet its PR has dropped from 5 to 2...
