It's minimalistic, therefore not graphic heavy.

Even though I did say I liked the design, I agree with Nystul and bested.
I think it is important to have a really good layout to use as a web design portfolio. If you have something really nice, use it.
Save this for something else maybe.

 

Try changing your site's name font color to orange (like the text you have there) so it stands out a bit more.
