Hey guys, I'm creating a poker site for beginners and strategies, as well I'll be writing daily blogs about the poker world and all that. Would this site appeal to you if you visited it? Would you check it out? Be honest and rate between 1-10 please for the design aspect, this is not a FINAL draft but just tell me how it's coming. Thanks!

I would check it out. But the content is the most important thing here. Design i would rate 6/10.

    I really like the cards.
Dont like the color of the page :)

    Awesome design!

I really love everything, a few things that throw it off is the double borders, mainly the inner border. But I think if you take that off it'll throw it off because the compliment each other, so it's sort of a lose-lose situation. But honestly I don't think it'll matter because it's a great layout. How big will it be once it's all chopped up? Slow load time?

Good job, I'm also working on a Casino related site, but I use very basic css layouts because 56k is still around.

Everyone keeps telling me that, but my site can be used for various things, like WSOP news and tournaments, top 10 casinos to visit, daily poker blogs with strategies and tips. Some ways to read a bluff, how to fake out your opponents.

I run a poker blog too sk8boarder, and I must say it's a very saturated market.

There are thousands of blogger blogs that start up and then die. More and more people are moving to live games and so are blogging less. While this means there's more room for us, I think it also means that there are less people reading.

You have to find something to set yourself apart from all the other poker sites offering the same thing - they've all been set up to provide content for their affiliations/rakeback deals etc. Is that why you're setting this up? If not, will you be monetizing the site?

I have a JavaScript hand replayer on mine, and it gets pretty poor traffic, even though I think it's actually very useful. PokerHand.org gets huge traffic (and is rubbish), so there is certainly a market.

Anyway.. enough blathering. What I'm trying to say is - make sure you're different, and that you stand out. Competition is fierce, and confidence is low (thanks to the ridiculous US government).

Don't like the design much, looks like you've got a template and modified it. 4/10 on design. I suggest you redesign somewhat and aim it at non-US players, or just take the advice of the above poster and try something else.
