    why the frig would you only play ps1 and 2 games on a friggin ps3? holy crap......and there's no known mod chip for ps3 yet

    I second that, the only reason I see to buy a PS3, or any newer gameconsole for that matter, should be to move to the new platform and play the new games that aren't available on your old console.

    @project mob...its not that i would never wanna play ps1 and ps2 games...but u see ps2 game are still coming so one would definatly want to play the games on a ps3 one who have it...no one wants to buy two consoles ps1 and ps2...

    If you seriously want to play PS2 games, then PStwos are only $169 new. Add in a new modchip and you're set for life. A lot of the best PS2 games are imports, or are impossible to find anymore, so the only way you're ever going to play them is with a chipped system. Even if you get a PS3 with BC, it's going to be a LONG time before a PS3 chip comes out that supports BC with PS2 backup discs.

    I guess PS3 doesn't require a modchip to play backup games as it has got a usb and flash port where where one can easily upload it to ps3 and store it in the ps3 hard drive......

    thing is why should i go for buying a ps2 and ps3 when i want to play all the games on a PS3...as said by the SOny in the starting..so maybe someone knows the trick how to play BC games on ps3...thats the issue here!:cool::eek:

    so what if you can upload the game files to your PS3's HD? You won't have the software/hardware to execute them

    and there's no trick as of now, stop dreaming, by the time the trick is available we will be playing with our PS4, while your still stuck on PS2

    In the UK, only the 60GB [which I have] can play PS2 games.... not that you would want to, though - the PS3 games are AWESOME!

    so anyone found out any new alternatives for BC....so the lateset firmware 2.53 doesnt have that software to rum BC...or the older versions had it or not??
