New PhpLD v3.3 as a web site and article directory

The new version 3.3 of Php Link Directory, just released, allows a directory to act as both a web site directory and as an article directory. To see an example, visit my Wisear Directory.

(I am not connected with the software - just a user.)

I like the idea very much, because it allows the user to populate the web directory with content. It is a very great feature, and I think it can go very far.

Smub has one created already and i believe there 2 or 3 more made for 3.3 Check at the PHPLD support forum in the design section for 3.3 templates. Give the designers a little bit of time to update there templates and of course create new ones.

This is very interesting, proactive and creative applications are always needed to keep that competitive edge, up front ahead of the pack :)

This looks great, I think I am going to use this for one of my existing directories and expand it with the new updated script.

You won't build anything unique until you have great idea, no matter what version of the script you are using.
Same is with directory mentioned above.: nothing unique in all: content, template, idea.
But I believe there are people who have idea and can make it awesome.

Just worked today for one of webmasters using new 3.3 phpld and was really impressed what he did. I can't post the link here as I don't feel authorized for that, but you know you can believe me as I could work on and see big hundreds of directories :)
But also - telling the truth I could do the same with 3.06,3,1 or 3.2 versions.

So in conclusion: not a version of the script is most important. Idea is first, then choose a script to finalize it.

I havent had time to check out the new version, but is there anything new worth looking at? I mean the article system was pretty much implemented in 3.2 so is there anything else new or just the finalisation of this system?

    In short: mostly same.
For articles and some description fields - WYSIWYG used.
Added Google maps, some performance tunings.
New default template looking much better than all previous.
Some changes for Admin - we have now 2 templates to choose.
For that reason some of my mods had to be updated. Just finished with it.

Whatever PhpLD still is really good script, one of best written we can find.

Thanks for the live example. I am thinking about bringing up a new directory using 3.3 and was hoping to see someone using it.
