    A summary of the prior and new PR values? Hmm, I'm not happy about this one. This would require further database updates for no real value.

    What I mean is that the user can tick/untick a checkbox to show the updation report. ("url","old pr","new pr")

    It is really a problem for users with slow connections and the page with the report loads forever... (my conn is 256kbps DSL, so not too slow for me)

    No problem if you think its of no use...

    I'm having problems getting it to work.I'm currently using ver 2 of phpld.

    When I click update page rank at the admin panel...i get this

    And my directory's main page is shown on the page...but nothing happens...

    Any idea what's wrong?

    I'm getting this question time and time again. The usual reason is that dir_prupdate_status.php” is missing from the root of the /admin/ directory.

    You can select smaller numbers of links, that will be better for you.

    The speed has absolutely nothing to do with rendering the URL and PR values. This is because the significant usage of time is looking up the PR by the server. So the suggestion you have would make no difference if implmented!

    In dir_prupdate_status.php, remove the following code from the top of the file (not sure why I left it in there actually):

    if (!(isset($_SESSION['is_admin']) && $_SESSION['is_admin']))
    {
        Header("Location: /");
        return;
    }
    Code (markup):

    Thanks!

    I thought it would get more attention as soon as the new PR update came along.

    I have been trying off and on for a few days to get this to work on my directory.
    For the life of me, cannot find why it will not work for me.
    I have deleted the files and re-uploaded them to the folders shown in the version 2 files.
    And what I get is blah!

    Am I correct in that I have to go to xxx.com/templates/admin/dir_prupdate.tpl
    to start the updating?
    If so, once I hit update, it goes to same page but says page cannot be displayed.

    A featured ad to the first person who can fix this for me.

    Once everything is installed, there should be a link on the menu of the admin section (under the first menu buttom). You should be going to xxx.com/admin/dir_prupdate.php to run the tool.

    If you still get stuck, drop me an email with your directory and ftp login details, and I'll check the whole thing out.

    So a few minutes ago, I deleted all the said files for the mod.
    Then uploaded everything again, checked to make sure.

    And POW!

    It all works now!

    Maybe the gremlins were just toying with me on this one?

    Now to put this mod on all my other directories.

    Just added by editing: Daniel, placed your site as a featured ad in my directory. Can be found at:
    http://hugedirectory.net/index.php?c=101

    Thank you.

    That's really odd you had those problems, but at least you have it fixed.

    Thank you very much for the featured link, it's really appreciated.

    Do you have plans for a PHP Link Directory 2.1 version?

    The init file does not have the same code as far as where to insert the extra menu, I believe.
