New PayPal debit card wont let me activate

    My old PayPal debit card wouldnt work anymore so I just got a new one. It came in the mail yesterday and I tried to activate it but It wouldnt work. It didnt have the activate link on my account page like it should so I just went to my profile and then clicked the PayPal debit card link. It showed all the info such as cards issued and all that fun stuff. At the bottom it had the card and a button to click to activate it. When I click activate now it gives me the following error

    "You cannot complete this action on the card you have selected. Please select another card."

    I emailed PayPal support but havnt got an answer yet. Just wondering if someone knew what to do. I didnt have this problem last time.

    Is it possible to call them? Sounds like a strange issue... Under a very similar scenario I just activated a new debit about 2 weeks ago... Is it possible the old card wasn't canceled out?

    If they dont reply to my email by tomorrow ill call them.

    The old card is definitely canceled because I tried to purchase something from a site with the card number and it told me it was invalid.

    I have the same exact problem you do and have received exactly the same message, except my card is new and I've never had one prior to obtaining it. I just emailed customer support and asked them about the issue. Have you resolved your problem yet?

    I still havnt got a reply to my email. I called them the other day but didnt have time to wait until I got someone on the phone so I couldnt get an answer.

    You should call them. Paypal has a very good phone customer service.

    I would call them to see what's going on. I just ordered my paypal debit yesterday and my application is now awaiting approval. Hopefully they do it soon :).
