New Options Trading Guide - advice on the landing page please

    Hi,

I just created a landing page for a guide I have written. I am temporarily hosting it on a friend's site before I could eventually come up with a catchy domain.

My goal is to attract $50 of daily sales from affiliates. I'm paying 50% for each $29.9 sales. Is this realistic?

I don't know how well this landing page will convert, affiliates, if you want to add anything or amend anything please let me know. Any comments is greatly appreciated.

Btw, I'm an ex-investment banker (now grad student) so the guide is actually worth a read, if you need a free copy, pm me.

    Thanks,
    Sam

The landing page looks good to me. Let us know how well it converts. I'd be interested in a free copy!

    Thanks

Too much text on your landing page. Emphasize/bold/color/highlight the text you want your visitor to look :)

The S&P lost 6.26% per year in the last few years? My very simple graphing software draws a very nice bull market since 2003. I don't think a rise of 100% in 5 years can be called "losing".
If "few years" are from 2000, this number is still wrong. From the peak of 2000 to current time, the S&P lost about 14%, which is definitely not 6.26% per year.
If you refer to the period between the peak of 2000 to the bottom of 2002, you're just misleading.

Wall Street with capital letters (it makes reading nicer). Page title should be capitalized too. (Sorry if I sound like an English teacher, but it does help).
All the technical talk can bore people. The average John Smith doesn't care about the S&P or how options work. Keep it to the guide. Show John Smith the benefits: make money from home, proven system, and whatever you can think of.
And don't forget a catchy headline.

Sorry if it sounds too critical, but if there's one thing you should never do is lie.

Anyway, don't get rid of this page completely. Make another one and test them against each other (if you have an AdWords account, use Website Optimizer). If your current page converts and my advice prove useless, then congratulations and good luck.

    Good luck,
    nadavs

The top image should be centered or something, it doesn't look quite right.

The whole thing needs to look a bit more dynamic.

Also I think you could probably get more than $29.95 for an options trading guide if you sell it strongly enough.

Personally, as an affiliate, I don't tend to bother with products that have a payout that low ($15) ... so you'll either have to go higher in price or in % payout to bring me in ! And I'm actually looking for products like this to promote.

Thanks all, really appreciate your advices, I will revise the page and test the conversion rate. I'll let you know if there's any good news and how well it is selling.

Zibblu, I can set a higher payout ratio in the beginning to test the water, if you're interested, I can pay you 75% for the first few months. I will PM you once I've decided on a catchy domain.

    Cheers.

Fix your header (right click on your web page, open with note pad, this will be in html, change the width of the header. I am guessing it is currently around 660 and will need to be around 760, save it and if it is wrong play with the number until it is right)

Need a call out head line - something like "Learn to make money with your investments regardless of stock market performance"

stock photos in middle are really not useful in conversion. You would be better served with an easy to read graph, or a testimonial box.

Testimonials should be in their own call out box

Some phrases dont sound right "This guide contain important information" instead of "Contains" I know this is little but people are paying you money and things like that need to be perfect.

Too bland - ex. use check marks instead of dashes on your check lists at end of page

Price needs to be $44.95+ w/50%+ payout

Once these things are fixed, then you can start working on the actual copy to appeal more to buyers needs to inspire purchases.

Not being critical. You have a good start. Don't be satisfied until it is as good as you can get it.

Thanks very much G. I have amended the followings:

    - Added a call out headline
    - Created a call out box for testimonials
    - Corrected the phrases that don't sound right
    - Used check marks instead of dashes
    - Replaced the stock photos with a chart
    - Set a higher price to $44.95 (subject to clickbank's approval)

I hope this product can help everyone here make some money!

Some phrases caught me and they might confuse other people. I was active in (and I still follow) the stock market, so I understand them, but you might confuse the beginners:
"... outperform the Dow ..." - people know there is a Dow index, but have no idea how to "outperform" it. Others don't know who or what the Dow is.
"Bearish market" - again, people might have heard this term, but many don't know that it means a down market.
"... from clever arbitrage" - arbitrage is a too big word.
"How to terminate a risky position prior to an option exercise" - try to make it sound less business-like ("How to escape risky situations" or something similar).
"Which long/short call/put combination is the safest" - average person: "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh?"

Try to make the confusing words a link to a little pop-up window that gives a definition. That way you will show them (potential customers) that you are professional and they feel like they make a more wise decision, armed with new knowledge.

You can try making two separate landing pages and let affiliates choose which ones to show according to their target audience (if I target investors with some experience, I do want to show them your current page).

Also, don't make the page title all caps. It's hard to read.

The page looks good generally. Just needs a few fixes (remember the testing part).
    Good luck,
    nadavs

Thank you. I have revamped the pitch page, made the copy more powerful and dynamic. I am quite confident that this product has good potential as the genre is proven to be popular (money & employment) but the niche is not super crowded.

    http://tinyurl.com/2qcgq9

I'm paying 75% for each sale ($44.95), it will pay you $33 so if anyone is interested in carrying this, please go ahead.

PM me if you want more info.

I'll give it a go but I probably won't be too aggressive with it until I see some results :) (that's just how I roll... I like to dip into different things and then once I see strong results, I go after them harder)

Where's your affiliate page? I can't find a link and I can't find your product on the clickbank marketplace so I'm having trouble creating a hoplink.

I do think the options niche is an interesting one. It's actually something I want to learn more about myself.

Hey, I've just added an affiliate's page, I've also made sure the product is found in the marketplace, you can get hoplinks from the affiliate page.

Suggestion: don't make the affiliate page link so visible. Affiliates want to get credit and don't want others to see that there is an option to get 50% off.

Also, in the affiliate page, the link where it says "...you can become an affiliate here..." is wrong. Replace publisher in publisher.jmap.clickbank.net with your account ID.
