Feedback New Option To Edit Your Threads

Because of the introduction of the ''likes'' system.
We should set up a minimal requirements of ''likes'', for example 3 or 5. And when members will reach it, then they will be able to edit their own threads and titles.

Because now,you need to bump your thread if you want to edit it. It makes no sense to wait 30 days to do a simple thing as editing. For example, why to wait 30 days if you want to edit the grammar mistake you made. Contacting moderators for issues like that does not seem to be convenient as well.

    Please support, thanks.

You can edit your post and title as long as it's within 8 hours of the post being made. Is 8 hours not enough time to fix your grammar?

That is just an example. If you have at least 3 or 5 likes, I think that's enough to prove that you are deserved to edit your threads whenever you want to :)

I don't even like the fact moderators can edit their own threads, but they need to be able to in order to moderate stuff properly. :)

I have nothing to say then. My suggestion is, look at the other forums, how they operate. Things like this one, does not really help.

What works for other forums doesn't always work best for others. I mean if we operated like other forums it would cost you money to register and then cost you money in order to post a thread in the marketplace. Should we start doing that too because someone else is? lol

It has nothing to do with us trying to be mean and oppressing users... but you have to factor in other issues. Say for example an account gets phished/hijacked (which happens daily) and the hijacker goes through and edits the user's 5,000 posts they ever made. Later the account is restored to the rightful owner, but they have 5,000 wrong posts. Or you get a member who decides they don't want their account any longer, so rather than just not use it, they decide to change all their posts to "DELETE MY ACCOUNT!", and then replies from users to their *original* posts make no sense, and it makes the threads themselves make no sense.

Most of the forums do not charge you.

I have never seen any hijacked account to spam the forum. They are usually stolen to scam members. No one is hijacking accounts with low post counts.

Also, no one would be so stupid to make threads like ''delete my account'', because they would have previously acquired a certain amount of likes, which basically proves that they are not retards.

I'm not saying all charge you, but some do... I'd make the same argument that most forums do not let you edit posts indefinitely.

Can you give an example of a post you made longer than 8 hours ago that you are trying to edit? Maybe if I have some context on what exactly it is, it would make more sense to me.

Let's say you made a guide or a very long and useful threads/post and you want to add more information.

    OR

You want to remove some information that is no longer useful.

    OR

You want to make your thread look better, change the font style etc.

    OR

You want to change your thread name, because it is no longer relevant or some information needs to be added.

And it could go on and on and on.

Best thing to do in those situations would be to ask a moderator to edit it for you.

And that my friend would be a very big pain, especially if you are an active member.
Contact a moderator for any minor editing, that sucks.

How is that any more difficult? You either write the change to the moderator or write the change in the post. Same effort really.

You just edit it, if you need to contact a moderator, then you need to explain him on what to edit.
And if there is a lot of editing required, if you need to change fonts, text styles etc, there will be a lot of explaining.

Is it possible to delete a thread? I have added a link sale thread on a subdomain and your script shows a part of the subdomain plus the entire domain name and extension. That is not good at all for me. I want to remove that thread or be able to hide the domain name or at least part of it. Is that possible?
