Hello. I've been developing a new, fresh website called FileChange.net (awesome file conversation tool). I have created this website multi-lingual, each language in different sub-domain. For example: http://de.filechange.net - German Version http://es.filechange.net - Spanish Version http://he.filechange.net - Hebrew Version And ofcourse the English International version, http://www.filechange.net. I need your help with link developement on this project, How I should do this smart and effective? Thanks in advance! (I know I got alot of work to do)
I have a site with 3 language, English ( main page ), Korean, bahasa Indonesia so I put a korean flag and Indonesian flag and put links also, when people click the flag , it will direct to specific language.
Build your German links with the German sub-domain, Spanish to Spanish etc. What kind of keywords you want to focus on though?
I focus on tourism: especial car charter in Bali, my site focus on Indonesian market so homepage is Bahasa Indonisia , but I post also English and korean as others links.
Just a note, but I've found it's generally accepted that for multi-lingual sites you use a subdirectory (example.com/de/... for example) instead of a subdomain. I posted about this in another thread, but here's my sources: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/182192?hl=en (how to properly implement a multi-lingual site for google) and http://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/44624/how-does-google-regard-subdomains-with-regard-to-seo (Explains Subdirectory versus Subdomain).
