Hi, I took a look at your app and it seems to be great and very useful, for both families and businesses. I think it will be even better when it's ready for iPhone and Windows.
How does it compare to the features of Life360? Is there a panic button? Does it record locations and store them locally to upload when the user is online (for users without data plans)?
Yes it records location and sends all the location data to the server whenever the internet is available. The purpose of this app is to track live location and communicate with your employees or family members. You may use it for your kids or old parents too. There are two apps that you are required to download. One is to track and another one is “to GET tracked”. One is for Manager and another one has to be installed in all the employee’s smart phones.
So people can check in? You didn't mention about the panic button You didn't mention about offline capability - will I be able to see where my kids have been even if they've been offline?
There is no panic button in the app as such. But this app can trace and record where the mobile has been whole day. You can try downloading both the apps on your mobile. One is for tracking and another app is to get traced. So you can track your own mobile. Check how it goes. There are setup instructions given in the FAQ section. For your reference, please follow few steps below: Step 1 – Please download Field Staff Management App. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ib.blackboxmanager Step 2 - You will find “Sign-up for BlackBox” option in the app. Please carefully choose your username and password and sign-up. Optionally, you can sign-up on the website http://blackboxreport.in/user/login Step 3 - Ask all your staff to download field staff app. Click here - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ib.blackboxcommunicationui Now you have to connect your account with all your employee's mobile. So please follow step 4 & 5 below: Step 4 – Ask your employee to check “My Info” section in the mobile app. Every app has unique IMEI number and a secret key. Ask your employee to "change" a default secret key and reset new secret key. Request your employee to provide you the IMEI number and new secret key. Step 5 - In the employee app - you will see 1st option as "Attendance" - Click on it. Press start. Please ensure that you switch on "GPS" location. If GPS locaction is off, it will take mobile tower's location - which will show approximate location. GPS is accurate. So you have to instruct your employees to keep GPS status "ON" along with the internet. If internet is off, it will save all the GPS data in the mobile. When the employee will switch on "activate" the internet, it will send all the data together. Step 6 – Login to our website http://blackboxreport.in/user/login . Log-in with your registered username and password. You will see “Assign Device” section. Put the IMEI number and secret key provided by your employee. If you have the correct key and IMEI number then it should allow you to add the device. You can add as many employees under your account. Step 7 - It is difficult to recognize a person's mobile by IMEI number. So to identify whose mobile it is, please name the IMEI number. Do do this, go to the "Device info" area the manager web admin. In "Device Info" section, you will see all the IMEI numbers connected to your account. Put a name / designation and press "Save". That's it. All done. Login with your username and password in the manager app or website. Start enjoying Staff attendance and reporting system.
