Ok so I have created a single page minisite, for which I am paying around $0.08 per click in Google adwords to get targeted visitors. I am currently only spending $1.50 per day, and have a high conversion rate, generating around $5 per day from Adsense ads on the site. I am a little cautious about upping my daily adwords budget for fear of the Google ban! As far as I can tell I am not breaking Google TOS, my only worry is because it is only a single page (~250 words) of genuine targeted content (not MFA crap!) that google may see it as a MFA site and ban me. Or.... Have I just created the ideal situation for Adsense sites (low cost per click, high CTR and high revenue) and should I ride the wave of 300% + profit while it lasts? (Don't want to put the URL up - its my niche - all mine!!)
I was banned with 50000$ in account while promoting a one page site via PPC, they never explained why. So you better ask Google if it's ok before investing more money in it...
There is no difference if you spend $1.50 daily or $1,500 , if you are doing something Google doesn't like you will get banned
Ok, so I maybe falling fowl of the arbitrage tos, but if I am bidding on a key phrase, that is actually my domain name, and my page content is relevant to that keyphrase (that is all the content is about) then how else am I supposed to advertise the site, than with that keyphrase in Adwords? If the ads that are showing on the site have a higher cost per click, I cannot control that, doesn't google tweak your ads automatically to reduce the cpc for ads in certain situations?
Oh Great! So what do you do if you are getting good adsense returns? Do you stop your own adwords campaign? Do you remove some adsense ads from your pages, to try to reduce your earnings? Do you change Adwords to MS adcentre or Yahoo? Seriously I don't want my account banned, just because I'm successfully making some money from a genuine information site. But I also don't want to lose a good source of income!
This is the rumor spread by jensense to scare off people. Google's official view is at: http://adsense.blogspot.com/2007/06/policy-updates-and-its-not-even.html Please don't spread the rumor further, it's just annoying.
I am happy that Google decided to put an end on MFA sites. There is nothing wrong by using Adwords to advertise a website with Adsense on it, as long as it is a "real" and "original" site with good content and easy navigation which most of MFA site isn't.
What exactly is Arbitrage? Meaning that you're not allowed to spend less money than you make as far as AdWords and your AdSense earnings?
Just a quick recap - My site is not MFA, it is relevant content for the keyphrase, I have even updated the site today and added a couple of extra pages of relevant content, and added additional links to other relevant sites (non-affiliate links!) I have also read through Google guidelines: http://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=47884&topic=9356 And now am not stressing, I can tick those boxes quite nicely thank you. A year ago me reporting making money from adsense with only a small outlay, would have been considered a great success!
